I just think we've been very spoiled with headliners in previous years. Expectations are too high

Dizzee CV: 4 albums, (5 probably by the time he headlines), 5 number one singles (probably more by the time he headlines), worked his way up from nothing to get where he is, original artist, pioneer of UK rap scene, already supported headliner on pyramid and nailed it. Successfully headlined smaller festivals. Live band.

He deserves a go. Same people probably moaning about the same old glasto headliners on rotation. It'd be great to see someone else get a go. Rather him closing than Mumfords. At least he'd put on a fucking party.

Dizzee f**king Rascal??? How can I get away from this chump?

Honestly, I get tickets for Glastonbury and head up to the Park to see a Franz Ferdinand secret set in 2008 and he's there with his fans blocking me in as I try to get out. I get tickets for Glastonbury again and want to see Spinal Tap and Crosby Stills and Nash and who's playing between them? Dizzee Rascal! Then, as if by magic the same thing happens the next year when I want to see Vampire Weekend and Gorillaz. Then I decide to get tickets to see Arcade Fire and Libertines at Leeds. Who's playing before them? Yep, him again. Then I go and get tickets for Kendal Calling on Glastonbury's fallow year and who's headlining? F**k off it can't be. Then I get tickets to see Muse at the Etihad Stadium and who gets announced as support? Stone me if it's not Rizzie Dascal. Then this happens. Arrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!

I hate him and everything about him but it looks like I'm going to end up unwittingly seeing him for the 7th time in June.

Arctics, (Rolling Stones), Mumford, Dizzee

If Stones say no now its going to look like a weak year for the pyramid stage headliners.

All the artists appeal to and come from the same generation

Its more like a set of headliners from V. I don't even think Festival Republic would have that lot for R/L

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
