Wayne's been like that for 25 years now, he ain't gonna change.

Saw them tonight, I thought it was sensational. Seeing Steven on drums again was a dream come true and his guitar solo on feeling yourself disintegrate was a thing of beauty. Their cover of heroes is better than Lucy in the sky, though I did enjoy it.

Overall I loved it. A return to form as last time I saw them they weren't so good. I wish I'd been on mushrooms, the visuals are seriously trippy.

I can't think of a more talented musician than Steven

I was at the Edinburgh gig on Monday. They were absolutely spot on.

Saw them three times now and that was the best setlist. Didn't expect them to play so many classics

Feeling yourself disintergrate is in my top 5 tunes of all time. Seeing it live and played so incredibly was spectacular

I didn't bother with the tour between money shortages and going to EOTR, but I am very psyched for that. Last time I saw them was Jodrell Bank, which was without a doubt the best experience of my life. No night was as good as that one, I was utterly euphoric from that performance.

Think you might have over-analysed that.

Tonight was incredible.

Wasn't really actively analysing anything, just spent a good chunk of the gig wishing they'd get the fuck on with it. Very much enjoyed it when they were, but too much farting about for me to really have got the most out of it.

Just realised that I'm going to see Jack White in Leeds on a Monday, then J&MC in Manchester on the Thursday. That will be a good week. Other than that I've only got Joanna Gruesome with Perfect Pussy support after festivals this year, should pick up though, usually October, November, December are my most packed months for gigs. Currently weighing up pros and cons of Polica in Leeds in August, and The Wedding Present in Blackburn in November. I'm also hoping that DFA 1979 will tour the UK before the end of the year. New Twilight Sad album is supposed to come out in the Autumn, so I would most certainly not say no to another Manchester date, or anywhere else within reason really.

Lykke Li is playing the Albert Hall same week that I'm seeing Jack White and J&MC, tempted to get tickets to see her and make it a really bumper week...

  • 2 weeks later...

Off the back of last night's glasto performance I shall be trying for tickets for the kasabian tour. Whilst it's an arena tour on the whole I'm impressed they've opted for 5 nights at brixton academy rather than 1 at the o2. The all nighter could be fun

Won't be going but I'm absolutely stunned that Steel Panther are even close to being able to play an arena

With any luck this might be where the wheels come off. they might go down well at a festie, but I cant seriously see people paying £35+ to see the bags of shite.

Paul Weller, Cardiff Castle Grounds July 24th. Will be taking my caravan and pitching in the council run caravan site in nearby Pontcanna Fields. So just a stagger after the concert back to bed.

Followed by Mostly Autumn, The Globe, Cardiff on July 26th.

Mostly Autumn are highly recommended - prog rock meets folk (imagine Pink Floyd meets Fairport Convention)

Absolute scum buying up DFA1979 tickets and reselling them at £60. 20 tickets on Stubhub already, from a very small venue, complete shitshow. I wish I could stab every tout in the eyeballs.

Reckon Royksopp are gonna bring their Do It Again Tour to the UK this summer/autumn?

I don't think so, the UK doesn't seem high on their list of priorities, I would love to be proven wrong, though. They were bloody excellent on Saturday. If they do return then I'd love to see a pretty much identical setlist, but with Robyn adding Konichiwa Bitches and Who's That Girl? into hers. Robyn and Royksopp on stage together really did live up to the hype, they got through most of the EP tracks, The Girl And The Robot and None Of Dem.

The Twilight Sad have announced more UK dates, so on Sunday the 5th October I will be off to see them play the Soup Kitchen in Manchester. And after last night's triumph, I am very much looking forward to seeing Lykke Li again in the autumn. I'm also keeping an eye on The Phantom Band's touring schedule, I had to leave their set at Latitude early on Friday to see Kelis, but I was really really enjoying them, we have unfinished business now.
