Who's watching what on tv

Surely maternity leave is the reason Netflix was invented? ;)

It's a great show - I loved CCH Pounder in Sons so really enjoying her in this. Unfortunately the binge watching has made it a little samey (oh here we go, Vic and Shane in hot water again...) but that's our own fault for watching it back to back.

Anything else you'd recommend in a similar vein? We've done most of the big shows...

You have done house of cards yes?

if not, dont even reply until you have !

Really enjoying Catastrophe. Very funny.

I second that - Horgan has been a bit hit and miss in other things, but this one is really good.

Also enjoying Togetherness from HBO.

Anyone been watching the Alan Davies program on Dave (no not the countless QI's) - is pretty good - normally there's a couple of really good guest on it who make it and a couple of hangers on, but definitely worth a look.

Watched the first 2 episodes of "Bosch" which is an "amazon prime production". seems quite interesting, a few cliches here and there but nothing cringingly overplayed.

The full season 1 is available in full in the usual places.

In other news, fancied going back to love/hate, as I never really fell out of love with it, just hated the quality it was getting posted in, really crappy SD captures every time. It appears nothing has changed, S4 is still not around in HD, and S5 is, but I aint gonna watch it till I've seen S4 properly.

Watching the final series of Parks and recreation. I'd really grown to love the characters over the years, but with the exit of a couple of great roles (Lesley's best friend and Rob Lowe's excellent character) it lost something. They are also doing some weird thing where some weeks there are 2 episodes on, some just 1. I've never understood why US TV has such strange scheduling (like season breaks and weeks where the show is just not there), it just makes it frustrating to try and watch stuff as it goes out and means I'm more likely to wait til the end of a series and then binge watch.

And BBC seemed to have stopped showing it. Got to season 3 I think, then nothing.

I'm actually really enjoying cucumber. I thought it maybe tailored to the gay community but its basically about a bloke in his 40's having a mid-life crisis so its themes are universal.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
