Mrs GH has got us into watching Masterchef Professionals. But it always make me hungry so I try to ensure I've eaten before it comes on.

Also, the trend these days seems to be a scraping of pea puree with most savoury dishes and tiny, tiny portions.

If I went to a top restaurant and paid the sort of prices they charge and then had such small helpings I'd be a bit peeved off.

Can't beat a good Indian Veggie Curry Special at Glasto for a fiver. It may be on a paper plate in a field but does me.

I made my first pease pudding (aka pease pottage aka pease porridge) recently. And served in the very opposite of "tiny" portions. Basically it's tasty, fresh, spiced mushy peas with some other veggies in. Healthy, cheap, delicious, filling.

I've made a few medieval-inspired recipes (without feeling the need to be obsessively historical). I don't doubt there's a festival food van market for medieval-inspired foods.

I mean, I doubt anyone here has ever tasted an apple pie as the earliest recipes create them, but they're so much tastier. The modern recipe is basically green sickeningly sweet sludge.

I found last season really hard work so havent watched any of the new season. Think im going to wait for it to appear on netflix so I can binge watch the full season.

It's a big step change from last season; less side plot and a lot more suspense and plot. I only stuck with it to see where they went and had given them a couple of episodes to deliver before I gave up - was not disappointed.

I thought it was really well done. Had been wondering how that scene would play out and it captured the overwhelming sense of sadness brilliantly. The only bit that went over my head was the Indian Hills stuff but not sure if that was deliberate to set up the finale?

I've said for a while the Indian Hills stuff is the key to the finale. They've just kept it simmering along up until now. I don't think it's dawned on anyone where it's leading.
