I agree with what someone said on the times podcast. If De Bruyne wasn’t at City this season they still win the league, however Liverpool without Salah would struggle for top 4.

That doesnt necessarily mean Salah has been better though - it's not an award for 'Most Valuable Player'.

No but I think it's a factor when 2 people are so close.

For the record I think Salah is deserving of the award because of the last few months where he has outshone De Bruyne quite considerably. However, I don't think I have seen anyone (barring maybe Silva) dominate and take over games on such a consistant basis as KDB did early to mid season.

Salah has been dynamite in front of goal - which is always said to be 'the hardest thing in football'. But I generally disagree with that - you can be terrible in front of goal and still get a great goal tally if players like KDB exist, prime example being Raheem....

Newcastle were shite tonight. As were Everton. Dreadful game of football.

I didn't bother watching. Because I didn't expect it to be any good. We're a counterattacking team and fat Sam is a defensive manager, with neither team needing any points for anything.

Would've been nice to break up our shite record there, but it was a 0 importance game with nothing to chase.

Our summer business needs to be making Dubravka permanent and signing a striker worth a damn. If we get those 2 we've got a decent first 11. No squad depth except on the wings mind, but until we get a better owner it's not like we'll be challenging in cups or trying to get into the Europa.

We're desperate for a No 10! I know Perez has done well these past few weeks but tonight showed why he isn't good enough. Should have gone in 1 up but he over hit a simple through ball to Slimani while under no pressure and no man to pass it beyond.

I understand why you didn't watch it but it was far worse than you imagine, both teams misplacing passes and just generally a sloppy game.

I like what Klopp has done with Liverpool this season but his comments post match remind me why I've never rated him as world class. Any loss or draw is blamed on external factors... He rarely takes responsibility for the result when it isn't a win.

Not sure why that would be taken into account when judging if a manager is world class or not.

No, you're right. I don't know why I used that as a thinly veiled excuse to dig at Klopp. Speaking before thinking there. Anyway, looking forward to the game this evening!

Had no idea there was so much negative history between roma and liverpool. The Roma captain killing himself on the 10th anniversary of the time liverpool beat them in europe is supet dark!

Both clubs need to be careful that this doesn't escalate. If the Roma bus is bottled today LFC fans should be staying well clear of Campo De Fiori next week. They probably should anyway. Roma fans have a history of this with English teams. Utd, Chelsea and Spurs fans have been targeted in recent years.
