I agree with what someone said on the times podcast. If De Bruyne wasn’t at City this season they still win the league, however Liverpool without Salah would struggle for top 4. That doesnt necessarily mean Salah has been better though - it's not an award for 'Most Valuable Player'.

For the record I think Salah is deserving of the award because of the last few months where he has outshone De Bruyne quite considerably. However, I don't think I have seen anyone (barring maybe Silva) dominate and take over games on such a consistant basis as KDB did early to mid season. Salah has been dynamite in front of goal - which is always said to be 'the hardest thing in football'. But I generally disagree with that - you can be terrible in front of goal and still get a great goal tally if players like KDB exist, prime example being Raheem.... I didn't bother watching. Because I didn't expect it to be any good. We're a counterattacking team and fat Sam is a defensive manager, with neither team needing any points for anything. Would've been nice to break up our shite record there, but it was a 0 importance game with nothing to chase. Our summer business needs to be making Dubravka permanent and signing a striker worth a damn. If we get those 2 we've got a decent first 11. No squad depth except on the wings mind, but until we get a better owner it's not like we'll be challenging in cups or trying to get into the Europa. I know Perez has done well these past few weeks but tonight showed why he isn't good enough. Should have gone in 1 up but he over hit a simple through ball to Slimani while under no pressure and no man to pass it beyond. I understand why you didn't watch it but it was far worse than you imagine, both teams misplacing passes and just generally a sloppy game. zahidf
and without lukaku, Utd would be in a fight for 5th and without Kane, Spurs would be 7th... Good thing those teams and liverpool have good players to score goals:-)

CRW5252
7/4 odds on Roma to qualify. Very good odds considering I would say the sides are pretty evenly matched. Who would bet on Liverpool at 2/5?

zahidf
Roma are a good team but liverpool are better on paper. id say 60% in liverpools favour Roma have the advantage of having the 2nd tie at home

ThomThomDrum
If if if if if....... I wouldn’t be too confident that LFC would be struggling too much to keep up with the top 4 in Mo’s absence If Mo wasn’t at the Pool this season Phil goes nowhere in the January window. If the Roma bus is bottled today LFC fans should be staying well clear of Campo De Fiori next week. They probably should anyway. Roma fans have a history of this with English teams. Utd, Chelsea and Spurs fans have been targeted in recent years.
