Logistics wise, it's very unlikely they'd take everything to Ireland, then take it back to England.

But I've also personally never loved Mr White

It was only when I remembered that theres direct flights to Nashville from Dublin - which does mean we've been getting some great gigs like Welsh and Rawlings, Sturgill Simpson etc - that I realised (Geese aside) hes on his way home.

Does seem odd hes never shown up though.

It's all about Simon, though, if he's not a fan, then acts won't get approached, let alone booked. I kind of like his obstinacy in not booking acts that seem like shoo-ins at any point over the last 20 years. YOu'd think Julian Cope (local, right kind of vibe etc etc) would have popped up once or twice, but not a sniff of him on any bill in the last two decades. Almost to the point where you wonder if he turned up at the gate with a guitar begging to play, he'd be unceremoniously turned away.

They have a stall selling Jack Whites record label stuff. All proceeds to Jack Whites Third Man records.

Your records, your mouse mats, your hoodies, your double ended dildos.

Probably been too expensive, as well obviously as never around at the right time. I remember there was a rumour he was doing Green Man last year, but obviously that came to nothing.

No Name was on his albums of 2024 list.

Do you reckon hes that expensive though? He plays small venues these days and doesnt charge much for tickets. I saw him in a 1,100 capacity in Paris last year and the tickets were 62 quid.

Why'd they keep him secret then? Geese just makes immediate sense as a secret act.

Exclusivity clauses - likely from R&L for Geese

It's definitely not Jack White! Whilst he could theoretically play one year, it wouldn't be in the lower prestige Thursday slot.

He did a late afternoon secret set in the Park at Glasto a few years ago. Played before Jarvis.

The plot thickens.

Glastonbury just slightly different to EOTR in terms of pull, though.

I wonder how far Jack's tour dates would have even been firmed up. Would his schedule have been in place by November when the headliners were announced?

Good point yeah, doubt these late summer ones were, 5-6 months before they were announced.

Pulp festivall hall. 18th july. Playing More in full. Onsale monday (member presale Fri)

Is that the 'special' headline set?

Wouldn't be against More in full followed by hits. More is pretty great, especially in the context it was released 42 years after their debut! Not many bands stay good or relevant that long

"This will not be a typical Pulp show: it will be… unusual. Expect the unexpected"

To me, new album played in full is hardly "unusual"!!

Jarvis on Instagram went in to a bit more detail saying...

How much More is there?
All of it.
In order.
With strings.
& piano.
& snippets from the demos.
The Origin Story basically.
For the very first time.
Ever.
In the Royal Festival Hall.
What are you waiting for?

So it could be possible.

It's also a two and a half hour set (if probably with an interval), as it also says they're following it with a set culled from across their career, and they're not getting 2+ hours at a festival. The most obvious thing to say is we only have the "unusual" line from Jarvis, EOTR has been promoting it without specifying anything out of the ordinary, whereas people will be buying tickets to this knowing it's a More set.

Also, "expect the unexpected" is not "the set we played a couple of months ago".

I think they will be playing a greatest hits set as usual…but with a choir or an orchestra they dont normally play with.

You dont play lots of b sides and rarities at a headline festival slot. And new album played in full is a bit underwhelming. An old album played in full would be too random.
