Simon confirmed in So Young Magazine this week that the secret headliner had played EOTR before… definitely Geese.

All the speculators seemed not to have realised that he is happy for Geese to be an open secret. It's not Jack White, it's an artist that can't contractually be named at this stage.

Rough Trade legends Geoff Travis & Jeannette Lee, John and Paul biographer Ian Leslie, and BBC Radio’s Elizabeth Alker, author of Everything We Do Is Music, feature in a standout literature lineup for our landmark 20th edition.

The Talking Heads stage also welcomes Tom O’Neill discussing Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties; Lanre Bakare exploring We Were There; Alice Vincent on Hark: How Women Listen; Babak Ganjei unpacking On the Bus Without a Phone; Lori Inglis Hall presenting The Shock of the Light; and Nadia Beard reflecting on The Melody of Things. Expect rare insights, bold ideas and revelatory conversations throughout the weekend.

Awesome. We are on track time wise.

Paves the way for day splits, still hoping for this week.

I would guess next week now, partly because we've just had this, but also it's the last week of the month (though there were a handful of day self-confirmations that came through yesterday, all of which were different to what I'd put on Clashfinder, but I'm not now editing that again until the splits are official)

For context, outside the Covid-affected 2021 and 2022 (rollovers) festivals, it's only ever sold out before July once before, and that was 28th June in 2011.

July 4th last year.

There'll be people with no tickets sat outside on the Thursday again this year.

That was a bit sooner than I expected. I was planning to come over from Berlin and waited a bit too long with buying a ticket to make sure i got the finances. But, how easy is it to snatch a ticket from the resale site Twickets? Is that hard or is it nearly impossible?

They know the day splits, it’s sold out and no possible reason not to release them!

Pretty sure we'll get them next week, week after at a stretch.

Weird to think it's only two years since it didn't sell out until three days in advance (admittedly an outlier, but that was widely regarded as one of their best ever line-ups including an Other Stage headliner)

Really looking forward to the day splits. Should be any day now...

Getting a good few new day confirmations at the moment (nearly all of which make the clashfinder wrong - especially don't plan too much around the current predictions for Thursday Big Top, if that even will be a thing) and for the last two years we've had a big announcement on the last Thursday of the month...
