I reckon that means we won't get the day splits for at least another week!

Agreed and that's annoying!

These are the up and coming band competition winners. Just had a quick listen and nothing jumped out as that exciting.

Nothing bad there either. I liked all of them.

However it would be useful to know which bands play on Thursday to arrange arrival times. I don't want to miss white denim, that are most probably on Thursday. I hope they will be on the woods, as big top is going to be full on Thursday.

You'll be glad to know that you won't have to miss White Denim on Thursday, because they've self-confirmed for Sunday.

Great news! Thanks for letting me know. But now I worry that if they headline garden I will miss cmat. It's so frustrating waiting for the day splits.

I think it's because Angine de Poitrine have become massive so they're shuffling around the bill a bit so they're high up and not playing in the folly or something

Not sure about this. They blew up a long time ago now, it's not like it happened in the last couple of weeks.

There's no chance AdP were going to play Folly, they were a big deal and top of the announcement when they were booked. The hold-up - if it actually is one, they don't need to sell tickets and there's still fifteen weeks to go - is more likely due to working round Lucinda Williams pulling out (still nothing about what's happened there but she's cancelled some US dates this month while adding Dylan supports in July), or trying to fit everyone in especially now we know White Denim have joined the many, many Sunday self-confirmations, or someone else has pulled out.

Stage splits were announced on 24 April last year.

This year 26 May and counting...

2021 was August.

2022 was July.

2023 was August.

2024 was May.

Could be a while yet.

2023 was 6th June, not August. Didn't check the prior ones.

Yeah, it wouldn't be as late as August except in the one year they didn't know if there was going to be a festival until August.

Looks like 2019 was 14th June, 2018 5th June, 2017 15th June, 2916 June 20th, 2015 May 19th, 2014 July 18th. So there's no real consensus but last year was an outlier (needed a ticket sales boost?) and we're in the middle of the most likely period.

Last three were:

- 6 June

- 8 May

- 24 April

It's not unreasonable to expect something similar and last year set expectations very high.

Hoping for this week, anything beyond next week would be painful.

People's obsession with the day splits is mildly baffling to me, but each to their own

I've got other festivals coming up very soon with overlapping acts and if I know the day splits now, then I know which acts to see now and which can wait for EOTR as would be no clash.

Plus I live abroad and would like to book flights and to do this, need to know who is playing on Weds so I can decide whether to arrive for then or wait til Thurs.

Hope less baffled!

No, still baffled. I also am lucky enough to go to festivals abroad, you either go when you can or make peace with it imo

I am attending a festival next week which has about 10 of the same acts.

Is it really that difficult to understand that if I know the EOTR clashes ahead of it, I can make better decisions as to who to see?

This far out you won’t know the clashes with confidence unless they are both headliners. People pull out, additions are made, secret sets crop up.

If you really want to see someone, prioritise seeing them at the first opportunity or see them on their own tour. Honestly, there’s so many occasions where I’ve had two or more chances to see someone and haven’t managed it because neither slot works out. Just part and parcel of festivals.
