Sunday is sold out. A bit surprising that The Cure sold out so fast (considering theyre performing EVERYWHERE this summer). Or maybe its a normal time frame for RWs Sunday?

With The Cure at Rock en Seine selling out so quickly, I suspected as much... Then the combination with Moby will have been an additional draw. I cannot remember a Sunday in the last five years besides that Foo fighters day that sold out that fast, but maybe I'm wrong.

True, Foos sold out that day in a couple of hours. Olivia did it within a month by the way, which is also quite fast.

Well tomorrow morning should give a good idea how much if it lies. Thought some don't think another announcement is coming until the 5th. I'd like to be able to rule it in or out tomorrow so I can buy flights.

If there’s another announcement this side of Christmas I don’t think it’ll happen until December. Would love to be proven wrong though and get another 15-20 names tomorrow to help me make up my mind

Sunday has generally sold out quite fast. Saturday's have also in genereal been easier to sell out, du to both of them being full weekend days, but that also put's the Fender f-up in perspective last year. Thursday always the hardest one. One year they even proposed cutting it in half, but changed their minds after a backlash.

Yeah judging by previous it seems there was one first week of December but I can't see where they announced the original package first for this year.

It's interesting to consider the Thursday pattern - it does not look like they try to book extremely strong acts to compensate for day trends. I think LP headlined this year, and arguebly they were the biggest name on the lineup, but usually it seems like Thursdays are.. weaker? Mumford feels like a more typical Thursday booking (they also did Thursday in 2023, although they replaced Stromae).

I imagine that Gorillaz and 21p will sell just fine.

To be fair, whilst The Cure are everywhere this summer. They are very much in vogue.

This is their first tour after their much acclaimed and successful Songs of a Lost World album. Their large outdoor shows in Manchester and Glasgow sold out instantly. Cardiff still hasn't sold out but it looks like it was hastily organised as a mid week show.

Traditionally they have also been more popular in France, Belgium, Netherlands etc than the UK. The Cure are absolutely massive in France.

Mumford unfortunately are pretty huge in Belgium. They've done the afas dome and sports palais as their last 3 Belgium gigs outside of werchter and a small promo. Those bigger gigs are 23k a piece. Similar to what The Cure have. Apart from once for Capaldi, the rest haven't done above Vorst which even twice in 2017 in the xx case which was 9 years ago is 16k total.

They just aren't a name sticking out on here to play again after 3 years and most of us would choose different. I'd do that for another 3 headliners though given a chance

It's also because  the first 3 booking have not performed in RW for a very long time.

The cure last performed in RW 2019.

Moby last performed in TW Classic 2009, RW 2008.

A perfect circle last performed in RW 2000.

Yeah that day has gone down brilliantly booked for the specific audience.  Also been mentioned that they’re very happy with ticket sales overall this year

Well TWOD in then! Guessing that means Lorde pulled out.  Means The Prodigy are in the barn too which is very nice

Sorry for the double post but could we rule out the possibility of Kasabian > The Lumineers > TWOD > Mumford > The Prodigy as a main stage day?

Would be massively stacked, got around 5 headliner sized bands (in the UK) on one day there.

So either TWOD are taking a drop from sub to barn or they are the sub and The Prodigy are barn headliner. My guess is that they are subbing which I dont think they'd take less than. Not the band needed but The Prodigy clash would win anyway.

So no Lorde, no The Offspring either. They've missed out on a lor of second options around.

I’d say they’re in the barn.  They’ve mentioned TWOD will be seeing the sunset etc…. So they’ll be sub.

The Prodigy in the barn is going to be unreal

In all the years at festivals, I have been lucky to avoid a Kasabian set. Hopefully I can carry this on at werchter. 😆

Kasabian, TWOD, The Lumineers aren't headliner sized in the same way Mumford and The Prodigy are, that's just stretching.

The Prodigy closing after Mumford would be the ultimate but we've been told Mumford will close. It's a very good act they have that happen to have dropped in Belgium obviously in popularity but on the face of it they are heavily carrying that Friday. Personally The Lumineers again from 23, TWOD and Mumford again from 2023 looks bland. No lorde vs the Prodigy is the winner here.

So it’s probably

Mumford & Sons, TWOD, The Lumineers, Kasabian, Zwangere Guy, ?, Young Yello

With The Prodigy and Loyle Carner as a top 2 in the barn.  Will work out perfectly for me so far tbf

Would like to see TWOD, Mumfords and the Prodigy. So thats going to be a tough one, most likely go with what is or isnt playing Sziget.

Don't see Prodigy playing the main stage of RW anymore.

I can see WOD and Prodigy clash now.

Yep, you can watch TWOD and probably miss 15 mins of The Prodigy but I’d imagine people would have to be content with being outside
