I'm expecting David Byrne, Little Simz, Wolf Alice, CMAT, Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, Dropkick Murphys and then maybe a few Belgian acts (although they might be saved for Belgian Music Week in January?).

This would be absolutely fine with me, only thing I would be asking for (which might be being greedy) is Pulp on the Friday (or any day tbh) and Biffy to turn up on the Saturday or Sunday. Think either of them are plausible given the slots they are taking elsewhere.

Very plausible names all of these, and I would add Beirut and Agnes Obel in that list. I don’t expect more than 10 names today. We’ll know in 3,5h!

I was sure David Byrne was basically out now. I doubt Dropkick Murphys are in, they are busy June 30th then July 2, 3 and 4th. Unlikely to be doing 4 days in a row. To be fair I have seen they have done and do 4 dates in a row but the same country.

Dropkick Murphys are playing 4 days in a row 4 times on their US tour in 2026. This includes a few runs of 4 where each consecutive show is in a different state, for example one run goes from New York to South Carolina. Their shows in July are all in France, so if they want to be at RW I'm sure they can work it out. Similar David Byrne is at DTRH, rumoured for the Saturday, and so could still be at RW on the Sunday. It's about 2 hours driving between the two festivals so very feasible.

Looks like we're not getting new names today.. Roll on next Friday

It used to be 4 their time (3 UK).  So all isn’t lost, but it’s been mentioned before we’re quite ahead of the number of acts normally announced so maybe they’ll not bother

They already posted something about volunteers today, so I assumed we should not expect more on socials.. hope my impression is wrong 🙂

Ironically someone just checked that on festileaks and apparently they announced that and their package on the 5th December last year

Nope was Werchter Boutique that announced (Mika, James Arthur and Emmy D’Arc)

Sadly for everyone the oracle has said if it’s not today we’re waiting for the new year.  So see you all in 2026 😂

Would have taken Mika tbf but James Arthur is a huge bullet dodged.

Yeah he’d have taken a high ish spot too.

On a side note Dylan Gossett is quite nice if you like a bit of country oh and we get to work out what games might be on at the World Cup during the festival today

James Arthur is my guilty pleasure, sadly never seen him live yet at a festival.

Was hoping he would be at werchter, can't see him a primavera. 😂

So hopefully he sneaks in at Sziget.

Same.  Don’t think they’ll go into Christmas without a small package.  Another week to find out Biffy are playing… dammit (I know they won’t)

Yeah, I don’t think for one second that Biffy Clyro will play RW next year (or any year).

But that won’t stop me trying to manifest it.

Same goes for Pulp, Wolf Alice, The Twilight Sad etc

Meet you round the cauldron at the weekend and we’ll do some weird voodoo stuff to make it so!

The most amazing this about this is the same constant asking for Biffy from the same people yet when I mentioned or was asked who I'd like etc on here and discordat the time....the answer from everyone else was oh probably Biffy with eyes rolling! The double standards and contradictory is crazy funny!

Lineup is so strong this year people are begging for a band that would be lucky to play 3rd or even 4th down lol.

Are you really that pathetic to keep posting incessantly about a festival that you don't like the line-up for and in all likelihood aren't going to?

There's 29 acts announced of the 100 or so across the line-up. You've criticised people for suggesting acts you think are too big for the remaining slots, and now you're trying to mock them for suggesting smaller bands instead. No one can win with you because there's no point to any of what you post. It's just constant, miserable moaning for the sake of it.

Buy a ticket to Mad Cool, enjoy seeing the Foo Fighters, and just leave other folks to enjoy their respective choice of festival too.

Shock I come back on here to have a little read and NortherAngel is at it again 😂

should I act surprised?

At what again?

Pointing out that everyone who moaned at me and rolled eyes for liking and wanting Biffy Clyro on multiple formats last year which other people actually like as well? It's absolutely desperate and begging for them to be there again this year when moaning at someone else thinking they would be aa good addition last year while others who like them too moaned that I wanted them haha.

It's not even a band I dislike but that's still a problem.

It's actually really funny, dellusional and ultimately embarrassing!!! 🤣

You like someone's band, its a problem. You don't it's a problem. All over discord last year the idea of booking Biffy Clyro for this was called old hat and moaned at yet suddenly it's a major booking now because someone else wants them haha.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
