They could have released any name it doesn't matter because I'm watching the prodigy

Exactly the way I feel.  I’d have been so annoyed to miss lorde but I still would have for The Prodigy in the barn

So no Lorde, no The Offspring either. They've missed out on a lor of second options around.

I wouldn't necessarily say that they've 'missed out' this year. They can only book so many artists and getting the calibre of TWOD, The Prodigy, Halsey, Moby etc to play under the headliners is fairly strong. Certainly more so than previous years imo.

Kasabian, TWOD, The Lumineers aren't headliner sized in the same way Mumford and The Prodigy are, that's just stretching.

I worded that badly to be fair, should have probably said 'arena-sized' bands, but either way that day would probably cost you the equivalent of a Werchter ticket (or thereabouts).

TWOD, Halsey, The Prodigy and Moby wouldn't headline themselves so getting them under that level is expected. Has the whole idea and strength has Werchter is known with in years gone by just died off now?

A of bands will cost an amount with their full show but you won't get that playing 3rd and 4th down so that comparison could go for any festival.

Tbf mate you aren’t far wrong at all, Mumford & Sons - Headlining BST, Kasabian - Headlining Victorious + Tramlines, The Lumineers - Headlining State Fayre.  Ok TWOD are only subbing BST and The Prodigy headlined IOW festival a year back.  It’s a strong old day

Bittersweet announcement for me this one. I got excited until I read that they play on Thursday. I’d love to see TWOD again and at sunset is indeed the ideal slot for them. But to stand a chance to see the Prodigy in the Barn we have to get in early, so we’ll have to miss them sadly.

I remember in 2023 how full of Brits the Friday was with Kasabian - The Black Keys - Liam Gallagher - RHCP on the main stage

Yeah I mean you compare that top 4 with any top 4 of this year and the top 3s we likely know this year and it's an easy winner. This is why when I hear halsey below headliners for example I think yeah that's expected.

With a bit of luck I’ll be able to see The Vaccines, Kasabian, Loyle Carner, The Prodigy and Mumford & Sons on the Thursday.  Sounds like a fun first day tbf, nothing too serious, just lots of singing to some anthems that everyone knows and getting into a sweaty mess with The Prodigy.  Cannot wait

The reaction on festileaks for TWOD is exactly why they are likely subbing and always would back at Werchter.

If Kasabian are 4th down that day which is likely given they were in 2023 and they won't be lower...they just wouldn't play it if lower, I think that pits The Vaccines clashing with Kasabian and so does clashfinder. It also had TLDP 5th down main though which is unlikely. I would hope Royel Otis are a barn sub clashing with Capaldi and TLDP are 4th down main but it could easily be the other way.

Sounds like we'll cross paths a lot that day. I just don't know how to follow up on the Prodigy with M&S 😅. I hope for a good alternative in KlubC tbh, and I will also be waiting for the Slope names as they always change my initial plans. If only they'd placed Kalkbrener on Thursday instead of Sunday...

Yeah all best laid plans will change once more names appear especially that slope appear and tbf I could also happily watch the Klub C header and still get about 45 mins of M&S.  Thats the really good thing I found about Werchter that it’s easy to catch the majority of things if you really want to

Same with the Thursday with The 1975 - Sam Fender - Stormzy - Mumford and Sons. That was a good year for RW

Wow. Another great addition. As I saw Prodigy this summer, I'll probably opt for TWOD. But it will be a tough clash for most.

Seems to have gone down as a universally accepted good booking.  Glad people have options

I don't think that's nearly comparable myself, that Friday I think was the standout day but 2022 was better I feel. Still wish I'd bit and gone in 2024 as I dont think I'd have the idea of still needign to try it. It's slipping away for next year though.

For someone who constantly posts about festivals who don’t seem to have a clue a festival fees. Bands get paid considerably more for a festival set over their own headline fee. The industry norm is 25% above their standard fee.

I'd agree I preferred the Friday but my point was that there were lots of brits at the festival and big bands for British festivals. 1975 4th down when theyve headlined Glastonbury this year and sam fender 3rd when he headlined reading/leeds that year. Bigger names than the Thursday next year I'd say. Prodigy in the Barn would be amazing though

I doubt Kasabian are getting paid more playing 4th down at Werchter than their own headlining gig or tour.

Also before you start trying to point out who doesn't have a clue on fees, that's got nothing to do with the fact that Kasabian in English will havs a longer setup time, better stage show, longer set time than Belgium.

They aren't bigger names in Belgium though. Fender proved that this year for example.

Kasabian vs Vaccines would be a punch in the nuts. Hoping for Vaccines do do an early daytime slot.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
