I’m pretty sure The xx will be the biggest name that day though.

If they are then its likely another year out a festival that looks to be slipping away for me. If Foos weren't friday it's heading way too pop.

If it was Sabrina, I dont know how anyone could argue her, The Xx, the Saturday one's and The Cure pales in comparison with this year heavily but again you just dont go do you.

The xx is a nice addition, but their placement as a main stage closer highlights once more the lack of big names being available for festivals this year. Imo, they should 've been a Barn head delivering a memorable show to the ones that really want to see them. It's the stage that would help create the perfect vibe for their music. I'm afraid that they will drown on the main stage, and I expect that a big part of the crowd won't stick around for them. It's not exactly the most lively band...

I also think it's clear that there will be another big name added next to them, possibly bigger. Everything points to M&S as it seems that we'll not manage to dodge that bullet. If they are added to Friday, at least we can hope for an additional nice headliner on Thursday.

Regarding Sabrina Carpenter...With 21p and The xx (more dream pop than anything else), don't we have enough pop already at the top? I understand that she might be super popular (to be very honest, I didn't know the name until it started being mentioned for festivals a few months ago) and I know that people on Festileaks think she'll be the Thursday headliner, but I just don't see it. Or maybe I don't want to see it. We are literally missing a proper/heavier rock headliner. And if the Foos, PJ, Muse, etc, are not available, they might just go for a smaller name, like they did with Lenny Kravitz in '24.

If GnR are the last Graspop headliner, I wouldn't exclude someone like Ghost for RW.

I dont think Mumford helps step away from the pop element either and you are going to start putting anything other than pop/pop rock at best acts under those two with Saturday and Sunday having more hope. Right now Florence on Sunday under The Cure could save it but if not and they don't get Jack either then that Mad Cool lineup so far drowns this out.

I can't help but feel The Cure created the buzz and it's kinda fell a bit. Im glad im not the only one who feels The XX is hitting it.

no idea, but I've never seen the park so busy during Linkin Park. I don't think the xx will pull a crowd like that (no hate towards the xx)

Hope they never have to face such an apathetic crowd again. I’ve never seen the audience care so little about the main stage acts as they did that day.

Amyl, De La Soul, Fontaines, Deftones all fell a bit flat.

I can't really complain because I was probably part of that. De La Soul were very flat, I was having too much fun on the other stages to comment on the other acts

Yeah...not the most energetic crowd indeed. But personally, I had a great time during Fontaines and Deftones (partially as I had to rush for Iggy)!

Haha to be honest apart from Amyl I'd have been the same, bit just gone elsewhere. LP sold the Thursday tickets absolutely no doubt and for me as a big fan personally wouldn't have booked an undercard like that for them. I know fans of all 3 of them above but separately, fans of LP that would probably make more effort for Deftones having not seen them etc.

It's all a matter of personal taste isn't it? So far 3/4 of the names announced, I want to see. I'm very happy with Gorillaz and the Cure, not interested in 21p and I like the xx, I just don't think their place is at the main stage.

For future announcements, I really hope for M&S to stay away and I'll keep hoping for a proper rock/metal name for Thursday. This isn't RW yet (even compared to its not so great years :)).But I'm very optimistic for the undercard as there are plenty of great acts around in that period.

Yeah I mean it's not killed off yet but 3 of the 4 announced aren't acts that I care if they are there or not, TOP I'd take out of them all. Gorillaz I'd miss until the last 20 completely, Glastonbury was boring AF, the worst one I've seen there I think and old Damon didn't like it either. Dizzee I think before was just a party vibe and then it fell to worse than U2 in pissing rain. But we'll see what comes. End of the day if things don't suit its money saved isn't it but the big point is I'd like to experience it but need more than that. They are currently looking like a festival smaller than what they are.

Awesome addition.

One of the very few acts, where each album is 10/10.

You guys are in for a treat.

Cannot wait for them.  Saw them once at Glastonbury and it’s the best sub headliner I’ve ever seen.  Excited to see them in darkness too.  Been watching their Lola Brazil set from 2017 this morning and it’s so good.

Looking like a strong lineup to me so far

Whilst I agree with you about the barn, you can't have a headline act play the barn. 🫣

Brilliant live and on record.

So pleased they are getting pushed to headline major festivals. Which was likely to happen, with such a long break.

Looking very primavera with xx. Gorrillaz and the Cure. 😂

And I hope it will be more energetic than the xx... I'm just curious: Is that band still relevant today besides that two minute intro song? No new music since 2017, no concerts as a band since 2018 (source setlist fm). I don't want to downplay the band's influence, and there's no denying that they are still popular in the indie scene. But for me its just nostalgia and rareness, for them to be a closer at rock werchter. If no other big name is playing that day, for me it's a worse booking than Sam Fender.

Of course they are relevant, thats why festival bookers are only having them as headliners. There break has cemented that push, they were subbing major festivals before there break, so headlining is the obvious step to make.

Its good to have new headliners, freshens it up.

Mumford and Sons I think are v likely, could be paired with The XX

Then Thursday probably a bigger headliner. Could be Sabrina, maybe Foos or a wildcard like Pearl Jam who haven't announced anything yet (maybe that's just my blind hope talking though...).

On Festileaks they're proposing something like:

Fred again, Sabrina Carpenter

The XX, Mumford and Sons

Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots

The Cure, The War on Drugs

Not sure where that would leave Jack White though. Probably too big for the Barn, but if not, would go well against Sabrina / Fred again

If Fred Again get on board he'll be announced later in the year but I get some doubt about seeing him touring this summer in festivals.

I could see him more touring in 2027 as he's really invested in his hardstyle shows with USB002.

This will go down very badly in here but I honestly wouldn't mind GNR as the Thursday headliner here. A band I've never seen at Werchter and I think for all Axel can't sing now, they have some big tunes which make for a great time after a few pints

I know right, I was saying to everyone no chance they’ll have more than 1, maybe 2 at a push… oh it’s now 3!

Works for me.

The good thing is, I love the barn and you can still see the headliners without missing the barn headliner too.  Cannot wait for the package to come out and start filling my days

If I wasn't going to primavera, I would be all over Werchter on ticket sales day. Its a cracking lineup already.

Yeah GNR would kill it off for me, it's already a heavily disappointing start. I can't argue with the others but The XX aren't a major festival headliner. It's a very dull act to finish on if you aren't into the Klub C headliner. Certainly not worth waiting over a week for lol.

How many pints would that take? 😂

Jokes aside I'd be split with this one. GnR with an Axl that can sing would be undoubtedly an awesome booking. But now...I don't know. Watching a legendary band with songs that you love and grew up with performing poorly, for me, is worse than not seeing them at all. I don't think they'll be there anyway, but if they are, I won't be able to resist of course and I will give it a chance.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
