Have you heard they are playing kr just around?

Just around, but they filled in last min before to do them a favour, they’re big in Belguim, new album and touring at the right time.  Also doesn’t seem to be that many headliners touring

I’d be surprised if they’re not playing myself

Agreed something like this looks likely, trying to predict the top few names each day. Maybe a bit guilty of too much genre-bias to sell day tickets.

Mumford and Sons, Jack White, Teddy Swims, Kasabian

The Barn: David Byrne

Sabrina Carpenter, Lorde, The Last Dinner Party

The Barn: Pixies

Twenty One Pilots, Gorillaz, Idles, Wolf Alice

The Barn: Ethel Cain, Matt Berninger

The Cure, The War on Drugs, A Perfect Circle,

The Barn: Moby

After a good few names, this is starting to look pretty weak on paper, a shame because at one point, there seemed to be a lot of opportunities around. That being said, I'll still be going

Tbf, might not be your taste (if it was that) but it’s not weak in the slightest.

I think we were probably all expecting lots more big touring names and they’ve just not appeared just yet

I think any line up will look like a disappointment for some of us given that, for a while at least, it looked like SOAD and Radiohead both could make an appearance. Having said that, the current line up under discussion is a pretty good one. And as usual, I am sure the undercards will be great too.

Same every year isn’t it? Unrealistic hopes and expectations and anything else just isn’t good enough

Nope! Not every year. Just the last 2-3. Before that, there was a time when RW would actually exceed our expectations year after year...

Nobody ever gets everything they want, law of life.

Btw with the announcements today it shows again how little there is around at the moment.  The Cure, Gorillaz and TOP are playing everywhere, harder to avoid them than see them this year

I would too in fairness

In fairness you can't expect everyone to think Sabrina, Mumford,TOP/Gorillaz and The Cure would be knocking it out the park for this festival even going by this years standards. You can have loads of big names but they could literally book Sabrina, Drake, The Cure and those co-headliners and it's still big names. The difference is the pull for a lot of people attending it.

I agree in general. Though I have noticed that the last couple of years line ups in Mad Cool, Opener etc. are equally strong  to Werchters, whereas in the past it was obvious that Werchter had the strongest line up. Could also just be my personal taste as well.

The thing is as well, its not like any headliner isn't a decent option sk you could never say 'weak' as such but less attractive.

Right now I see it being this as the very top names. I don't think we'll get Foos, Sabrina, Mumford, TOP all from Nos Alive and I feel they'll take Foos everyday over Sabrina. I mean imagine having the choice for a rock festival, I know I know but booking Sabrina over Rock. Mumford at least still have a bit of rock/folk in them.

Foos

Mumford/Jack

TOP/Gorillaz

The Cure

So far NOS have Cave + Top and Florence + Lorde.  The last couple of years they’ve shared 3 or so of the very top names.

I  personally do expect whoever is the missing headliner for NOS to be playing RW too.  Whether that’s Sabrina, Mumfords or the Foos.  I also expect 1 of Lorde and Florence (more likely to be Lorde in my opinion)

So there´s no announcement this week?

Or are they waiting for Sabrina or Foo to announce a tour?

Most likely.

Nos only share 2 of the very top names this year and 1 the year before. 2023 they shared 3 or 4 but that is 3 years ago now. I'm expecting Florence and Lorde but the last two years suggests there is no guarantee of the final headliner being shared.

Only problem its all older acts, there last 2 editions made an effort for younger headliners as well as old.

Which will bring in a younger audience, an audience that isn't just into 'rock'. For example Olivia, Fender, Dua Lipa, Maneskin.

Was that just scheduling and what was available, or more of a strategy to get a younger audience into werchter. We will see soon.

Last year it was due to be Kings of Leon, and Olivia Rodrigo as headliners plus Sam Fender and Noah Khan in sub positions.  The year before was slimmer with Dua and Sun 41 I think but then 2023 had loads too as mentioned

It was but KOL were just pulled ut because it wasn't selling, no way they just added KOL then instead of earlier as a plan. Sam Fender wasn't at Nos anyway

I've no doubt it'll be a great festival as always, just on paper it's starting to look weaker than it could have been. Yes, typically when rumours turn into reality.

I think the lack of a name this week has killed a bit of momentum

Agreed. Hopefully we get the last couple of the next 2 weeks and then a batch of names before ticket sales

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
