I’d be very surprised if there’s not a bigger headliner on Thursday than the ones you’ve listed

I totally didn't remember Sabrina but like you I think it looks very rock light to be Sabrina now Thursday.

If it is however then I'd go Sabrina, Lorde, Mumford and Florence who might even miss out for TWOD.

This is no doubt 99% wrong but thought I’d post it anyway.  Someone come on festileaks and said the Thursday lineup is:

Mumford & Sons, Lorde, The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, Zwangere Guy, Kasabian, Young Yello

It’s a talking point if nothing else

Its not unrealistic either. Same day Fontaines played as well who did the Finsbury show.

Everything matches up I think?! But maybe that’s why they said it.  Soon find out I guess

Mumfords are certainly in a selling period of not needing to co-headline with anyone. I think that would put Florence Sunday if you're lucky and Jack Friday. Nothing i can commit to namely as the too lineup just isn't strong enough.

Are Mumford a draw on their own for the Thursday? I haven't followed how their recent tour did.

What’s the likelihood of Foo Fighters now that Jimmy has said he doesn’t expect them.

what kind of inside info does he have or does he just follow paterns and who’s touring like the rest of us do?

Think it's more the latter but also seemed to have info specifically for Live is Live

The rumoured Thursday lineup posted by Sisco looks good to me, I've not seen either Mumford or Lorde before and would probably personally prefer that more than my third time seeing Foo Fighters. The top four of Mumford/Lorde/Lumineers/Vampire Weekend looks strong enough to me, but I'm not sure of their relative sizes in Belgium versus the UK.

I think the issue is with that leak is it’s come from some new random user in festileaks with 0 credibility . It’s fairly strong tho I’d defo catch Mumford and Kasabian 100% and maybe the lumineers.

Yeah definitely agreed. Also not sure how realistic it is to have the mainstage day lineup all sorted and listed like that at this stage.

Isn't there usually a fair bit of moving around stage placements? Last year I think we heard rumours Iggy Pop would be 4th down on main and then that didn't happen in favour of playing the Barn instead.

As always, wait and see what happens. Monday, and the rest of this week, should bring some clarity.

Their tour did very well but I don't think any of them apart from The Cure are a draw currently. If it was Mumford and as its currently going then I'm probably likely just to pay for The Cure in Cardiff and spend a day in Cardiff before or after it as I've never been and do the Brecon Beacons

Out of that list, those 3 are the ones I’d definitely skip. 😅 Both Lumineers and Mumford were exceptionally boring the last time I saw them.

I dont think VW will be 4th down there now. They were 4th down in 2013 behind headliner and dance closer so kind of 3rd down. If anything I'd imagine 3rd down again and Lumineers below them. Mumfords on their own day though regardless of sales for what currently needs to be a big day is bland now. Chili's, Muse and Arctics headlined last time they headlined outright though the undercard strength wasn't the best so who knows.

You're looking at:

Mumford, Lorde

The XX/Jack White

Gorillas/TOP

The Cure/maybe Florence but TWOD might not take 3rd down even under co-headline.

If that is the case it'll be the first time since 2019 theyve had more than two co-headliners. It could even be weaker with Flo not playing and TWOD taking that spot. Strong enough for some I imagine but nowhere near weekend ticket money in that compared to thia years top line.

My weekend ticket is starting to rely on Foo Fighters I fear or someone unexpected

very much. doubt there is anything that will get added after that to make it worth it. the headliners sell it, the undercard helps but not the other way round. zero point in finishing nights on the barn or hoping for klub c.

Zero point in ending at another stage….Bit pointless having other stages then 😂.  People get far too worked up by the headliners, I can’t even remember half the ones I’ve seen.

For me, if I spent over £300 on a festival weekend and travelling there etc, I need more than 1 headliner than I'm truly interested in and given the barn finishes generally before our just inside the headliners that is what you are playing with. I'd have given Nia Archives a go this year vs a different headliner but Kluc C is often not for me, in fact apart from hearing the obvious Foster the People song she was my only interest in there. So what are you doing for the other 2 or 3 nights if it's a case of I'll sit through them while I'm there but can I be bothered?

Given that I also know that TWOD are a very possible option too that gives me two potential sub time bookings I'm not really bothered in. This is me, I'm not telling others they can't enjoy it

That of course is personal opinion then.  I’d much prefer to end the night at The Streets than Lenny Kravitz for example (but again personal preference)

Im paying £400 for a weekend away with the lads, the camping area and travel. Handy that there’s some good music thrown in too.  Roll on July

Its always personal opinion isn't it, and I'm entitled to one just like the next regardless of whatever anyone tries to say in here. I won't be paying £300+ for a weekend for a set of bands that don't tick the needs to please other people especially as I'd likely be going solo as not many of us festival now. Probably at the point that the more disappointing acts the better now, again that's what I think is disappointing but there is a glamour they can turn it around.

That current top line will be extremely poor in my view but I'm not stopping0 someone else spending their money on it, laughing at then doing it, laughing at their opinion or berating them for it. Doesn't affect anyone else going.

You are, and you give it very often which is your prerogative. Yeah you have mentioned it’ll be poor, I’m sure you’ll mention at each announcement it’s not really for you, I’m sure you’ll find a lineup that is.   Good luck with it

Probably not, I'm in a different place that I was way back, albeit a recent slump. I was fighting a lot of battles, a lot of demons last year and currently my running is keeping me at bay as much as possible. It would just be a shame if the moment for Rock Werchter has gone and really I should have bit the bullet a long time ago, maybe in 2012 but hey that time has gone

To be fair, a lot of the headliners announced so far or rumoured to be playing are selling out their own shows for ~£100 a ticket. If you like three of them, you're getting equivalent value for money out of the festival before you even begin to consider any of the other acts on the bill. Some of the expectations in this thread seen much higher, which I'd argue is always going to end up in higher levels of disappointment.

It's one thing to say you personally don't like the lineup, and that's absolutely fine. Obviously it goes without saying that you shouldn't t go to a festival if you don't like the acts playing!

However it's worth comparing against the summed price of seeing some of these acts on their own, in which case I think the value of RW becomes quite easily apparent.
