For anyone interested who might catch the football next year at the fest:

The World Cup will be held across the USA, Canada and Mexico with kick-off times expected to be 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and 2am (all BST) in a similar pattern to what was seen at the Club World Cup earlier this year.

All I hope is that Belgium does well like in 2018! It will result in plenty of space during the games and a fantastic atmosphere after if they’d won. Whoever was there knows what I mean…and remembers Damon Albarn singing: Edeeeen Haaazard! 😁

Always usually have a pleasant enough time at a Mumford gig but that’s a bit rough as the Thursday headliner after Mad Cool turned up in a big way the other day. Bodes well for the leak being correct as Vampire Weekend would be a big pull for me

Same, don’t mind Mumfords at all and will happily watch them but Lorde, Vampire Weekend and Kasabian being there would be great

Weak compared to last year headliner wise for sure, be interesting to see what they do with the undercard, can't see the tickets flying out the door this year as quick

From a personal point of view, I am liking all the headliners announced so far. I would pay to watch all of the headliners, massive fan of 3/5 announced. Happy with the set of headliners next year.

From the original headliners in 2025, only Fender got me interested.

I bet there socials will be full of 'where's the rock for rock werchter'. 😃

Mad Cool published the whole poster so we can't really compare what RW or any other festival to Mad Cool as of now. It always looks much better when a full poster is publish at the start of festivals announcement season.

I'm sure RW still have at least one another co-headliner to announce.

It was expected and I'd just about take them by probably a songs worth over TOP, on the other hand I've not seen TOP. Last time Mumfords played the undercards for Thursday and Friday were alright with Friday being the best by far but the other day were absolute dross for me especially the Saturday which I think I'd have bothered with one band....and that's based on knowing them now not then.

Lorde, Vampire Weekend and Kasabian would outshine Stormzy, Fender and The 1975 if Kasabian were that high comfortably though. VW are the one from the Werchter leak that I would have taken.

What I find a little odd is that which might be nothing to it but when they did the Saturday drops they did them one after the other, just gives a slight feel that maybe the Friday second down band shouldn't be expected to be all that.

Yeah I mean, LP, Green Day and Olivia despite The Cure was levels and levels above but then the undercard suffered for it in quality which is obviously subjective. We might just be seeing where Werchter is now in the market. For me anyway, while I agree 2024 headliners didnt all match up, Lenny only had a dance closer, not sure if The Prodigy were down as a headliner that year and Maneskin had just had a huge year, along with Dua Lipa and Foos that set was also way bigger than this personally but they needed to get two names that were not striking headliners to pad out the udnercard stronger objectively and we might be seeing that trait.

Something interesting with this year’s lineup is that every night will close off quietly. There is no banger. You can argue that M&S will make some ppl move during their big hits but that’s about it. I’m curious to see how many people will be remaining on the field until the very end of each day, but that’s a risky move from RW.

For myself, I agree with most folks above, in terms of headliners, it’s Mad Cool - RW: 1-0, which is pretty rare. But let’s remember that RW will have a lot more bands overall and I do expect most of MD’s cool stuff to cross over (and then some). So I’ll remain optimistic. I still have 3/5 of the headliners that I’m happy to see but I do recognize that the top of the bill looks weak compared to (most of) past years. I wish we had Nick Cave as a Thursday headliner or Friday co-head but oh well…

Can’t wait for that first package!

I think headliner wise 2022 and 24 they looked about equal headliner wise as in first main headliner with Foos maybe just snatching it but I'd trade Foos off for The Kilkers. 23 most definitely RW.

I think you worded it well using no banger, love The Cure and one a bit more down beat is fine but it's missing that thing to get you going. The Prodigy are now out either way. To be honest I think Mad Cool would have booked them again if possible as its been 3 years. I'd say you've got a lot of options for two subs in there with knowing the Thursday sub and then down to 3rd down bands. I don't Jack will be there though. I think if TWOD are then it'll be Sunday as they need a bigger option for Friday.

I think RW will balance out the "quiet" headliners with some bangers or big dance acts in the other stages or as subs on the main. Moby, Pendulum, the Offspring, Paul Kalkbrenner, Pulp, etc...Plenty of options around.

I also still expect a big name next to the xx on Friday. Possibly Editors or KOL?

For me, the headliners at Mad Cool are better this year. However, Werchter is a huge festival so we can probably count on at lot of good undercards.

I also agree that the top line of Mad Cool feels a lot stronger than RW as of yet.

I am surprised that Mumfords are taking the headline spot at Werchter and there isn’t a larger pop name. I also agree that them & the XX are ‘quieter’ names for the closing slot.

I reckon if they had been able to nab the Foos, then they would have done it. It would feel considerably stronger than M&S to headline.

I think you're unlikely to get any of Pulp, or The Offspring in the barn going by numbers so they will be in the sub conversation. Moby I can see Barn, Paul too probably but not clued up with him and just about Pendulum but I don't think any of those first 3 day will have a pull a LP or Green Day day for people to avoid a barn headliner as much to get a good place. I don't think there are many BIG hitters that will want to do that second Friday role. Editors I think are touring too late in the window. KOL of course are possible. TWOD played both last time they did Mad Cool.

Best case scenario would have been Mumfords under The XX and Foos Thursday but Foos likely don't want to return that soon, there is very few now they do that with. Reading at the very start they returned after 3 years and RAR has been 3 but it'll be 4 if next year so too soon.

Not surprising, but RW has a lot of job to do with the undercards if this one is going to sell out. If the leaked poster was close to legit, that could mean a pretty strong Thursday overall, but there's still three more days. Mad Cool definitely got the upper hand here, but if RW returns to their old greatness (not the last 2 years), they can easily make themselves more attractive.

Expecting a bigger batch of names before the tickets go on sale now, so we'lll probably know more then. I would think oneone of them will be KOL, given their pullout this year. A lot of good sub/undercards around this year, but it's almost like i don't dare to hope that they'll get them after the major disappointments recent years. Keeping my fingers crossed though (and hope Kasabian, Pulp, Moby, Vampire Weekend++ will be in the next batch).

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂

Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
