Tbf their touring route makes Sunday subbing The Cure quite easy but whether it happens is another thing.  Don’t really care either way, seen them before so not really too fussed.

No kings of Leon + no Florence + no Pulp is sad for me , I can’t say I’m interested in Lorde or TWOD but let’s see what else they got

I would say given the days break, they would do Manchester Friday. TWOD won't go below sub I doubt

I'd like to see that, probably the only boomer that would like to see some newer acts too. It looks a little too 2010 at the moment

It would be pretty odd to not get KOL, Florence or Pulp.

A setup of

Mumford, Lorde

The XX, The Offspring

TOP/Gorillaz

The Cure, TWOD

isn't great. I would say, headline wise 2025 walks all over it without question especially given it was Yungblud Saturday in the end but sub wise just in Lorde and The Offspring is better as no sub interested me this year.

Just saw this in the usual tour announcements thread.

That's them out of Werchter for sure now, right?

They were out of it really once Co-op Live was a thing. Kind surprised they are doing Glasgow and Manchester back to back but different countries are definitely a days gap. That changes thing a lot as they were a must for me. I never backed them to take second on Friday though. It gives some thoughts that this years overall standard is now going to be the top point of where Werchter gets to which isn't great going forward but can't change it.

Presumably RW have the data on the effect Kings of Leon had on ticket sales last year after their late announcement. Given other festivals like InMusic and Mad Cool rebooked them, and RW didn't, could this be a show of confidence that they think whoever they have booked are more reliable tickets sellers?

Personally still quite optimistic and excited about what this week will bring.

Headliners are better tho so it makes it overall better I guess 😂😂

Personal taste.  Was talking to @BlackFoxx about this

Foos vs The Cure

TOP + KOL vs TOP + Gorillaz

Florence vs The XX

Nick Cave vs Mumfords

Barring taste I’m not sure there’s much in it at all in size

For me the variety and amount of acts will be what wins it for Werchter (for me).  Plus having the best stage around

Ah to even put tastes aside, there is no way they even come close. Foos will outsell every act on there and Florence absolutely outsells the the rest apart from maybe Mumford. Foos are the one where if you got them in a festival you done well, The Cure are playing everything but those two. Added to that KOL are not a co-headliner at MC, TOP & Gorillaz are at Werchter. Even as someone who's no interest in Nick Cave at all there is still only one winner surely.

You are also basing the (best stage around) with the headliners which has nothing to do with that stage lol.

1.  Flo doesn’t outsell Mumfords or The Cure plus I doubt does The XX in Belguim either

2.  You could have seen the foos anywhere if you’d wanted for years (which I have).. I’m more than happy with The Cure over them myself

3.  I mentioned the best stage around when I mentioned the variety of acts.  Nothing to do with the headliners at all

I think Mad Cool have done well as I said the other day, but considering if I put all the headliners together my top 2 would be The XX and The Cure I’m more than happy with what Werchter have done so far.  (I will give you The Foos are the biggest headliner out of the lot though)

I would have The Cure as well but as an overall package of names that stick out. I bet Florence outsell all bar Mumford and The Cure in Belgium. The XX played the first twice in 2017, Florence played the sports palais which is nearly 3 x the size

9 years later?

Anyway, I’m glad there’s festivals everyone likes, that’s a good thing.  Not really sure the need of well this is better than that.  Just go to the one that best suits.

I do wish RW had the MC guaranteed weather though.  Love the heat

Well one did it in 2017 and one in 2019 which is only two year later and I can't help the dates lol. Also had played the sports palais twice by then.

Well you did kinda start the this is better than that debate lol.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
