7th time this year, still never been to strummerville but it’s on my must do list this year. What time does the music play til up there?

It's a lovely spot. Personally, the view over the festival from just outside Strummerville is great - at any time but lovely at sunset and then after dark with all the lights.  I liked it as somewhere relatively chilled to just lay on the grass/hill, or sofa if you can get on one, and I enjoyed just the dj sets there as well as the live acts (it's also a pretty unique stage). It can/does get packed mind for some acts (like Frank Turner last year).  Some nice food up fhere also.

Just noticed Woody Cook on the lineup.  That's Fatboy's and Zoe Ball's son isn't it.  DJ set?  Or does he do something else?

hes usually there like his dad .... walked past me a few years ago on railway line  and said sick hat mate , one of the people who I was with told me who he was 🙂

Not sure if timings are out yet but Brooke is doing an acoustic set Friday at 4. She was great in Birmingham earlier this year on the album tour.20250530_154313.thumb.jpg.10125709e1ac76d01cd94e80596e28ae.jpg

I rate her so highly, the acoustic set will be cool. Was also at that gig in Brum, was great!

They're not big enough to need to change their name. Thanet is an area of Margate, so I think a band with a link to that area.

I assumed the same and there is a pretty big band with Thanet links playing on the Sun evening - I assumed too big for something at Strummerville also though😉

Yeah members have Thanet connections and referenced their Dreamland (Margate) gig this summer as a homecoming.

How long in advance do you all think you should arrive to get inside for Heartworms on Thursday at 9pm?

Was wondering the same but it is a fairly popular evening there in any event as the fire lighting is earlier on as are a couple of other sets. Judging by last year when there some fairly popular acts on the Thurs I'd personally aim for an hour before (possibly a bit ott but......).

Which prompts a point from last year that I spent a fair bit of time in Strummerville and while was great when a band on equally would recommend chilling there when there's not and it's relatively quieter. Has some good dj/background music and sat/lay on the hill or on the sofas around the fire is lovely

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
