Bloc9 2025

Proper posters, well done Block 9.

As for the lineup, I’m struggling, but hopefully it’s just a case of not knowing the names.

Any recommendations for proper DnB/Jungle, not that million beats per second unlistenable to “jump up” shite. The more old school the better.

Or nice old school house music

Marshall Jefferson on the Glade for old school house

Guessing Hot Chip will be a DJ set, still sounds enticing

Someone's had a shocker with the date there...

That’s my guess too, given it’s on genesis.  which will be a shame but still fun

DJ Storm, Nia Archives for DnB/Jungle. Old school house music plenty to choose from but definitely Derrick Carter, Deep Dish + as above marshall jefferson on the Glade. not really strictly gonna be old school/house but probably play stuff that's along those lines Danilo Plessow, Prosumer, Gerd Janson

Anyone ever caught Deptford Northern Soul Club at Glasto? Love a bit soul music and intrigued how it goes down

Yes fab. Saw them a few times at Glastonbury and elsewhere. Playing in block9 makes it more difficult for me to get to. Don’t fancy queues to get in after the headliners.

Poor lineup IMO. Along with Arcadia and Shangri-la we have had a bad year for electronic music.

I think Shangri La stage lineup is good but Arcadia ain't good this year. Silver Hayes is the banger for dance this year with the glade in second, would have been Arcadia to beat it if anything and it kinda came and went.

Something tells me this is 100% intentional, what with them both being way out of the SE corner. Arcadia also a big pull regardless of individual opinions on lineup, some massive names.

GFL doing all they can this year to avoid another bicep / four tet on iicon - as daft as they were in the first place.

Did anyone go to the day party last year? Was it super busy? Wondering if it's worth heading there this year or if it'll be 1am kinda busy...

This is the first time its happened

They did it last year too, but only in NYCDL and it was rammed.

New for 2024 will be Saturday's Downlow Day Party, headlined by New York legend François K. As well as the main space, NYC Downlow is home to Meat Rack, which this year has doubled in size.

Probably right. The problem is I guess when you go to a certain standard and then it drops. To be honest it was only the Bicep DJ set too. Also being honest, the Shangri-la stage is alright lineup wise, fatboy slim is quite big for that but I don't expect to know loads of other names. I think the biggest drop is arcadia. I think Saturday has enough while feeling more like late night after party dance acts than arcadia acts. I know it it technically late night after party but there is less particular areas they could play.
