Spends what you mean by 'get going'.  It's open from the afternoon but often deserted until much later on.

I have only been there when it's either dark or the sun is rising, didn't know what time music/entertainment started down there.

When does the SE Corner get going btw? I always watched a headliner before but this year I may be struggling a bit to find anyone I'm keen on.

SE corner around headliner time is generally a great vibe - not over-packed and great atmosphere

Issue i have with neil young is he's a dinosaur (and one i'm not fussed by)

Macca and Elton are fine - legendary acts in a league of their own with a few others, Neil Young is clearly a step below.

His BST hasn't sold out straight away as his only UK show in a few years. I am sure it will sell out but a glasto headliner should be selling that out straight away.

Tons of other acts have sold out their days, heck even Sabrina Carpenter is now doing her second day which is selling well.

clearly they didnt want this on the Pyramid 😭

Depends on the stage / day.  Craig Charles is usually on the Truth Stage one afternoon from lunchtime

Thanks, obviously been a long time since I was there and the place is so ridiculously huge that there are still areas I didn't visit, maybe this year the SE Corner at a different time is one of them that I do.

my subjective opinion is that this is my favourite line-up announcement in years, there is tons of stuff that i want to see on there and even the headliners are all things i would watch. and that's before all the dance stages and smaller acts and such. i'm hyped

I'm with you. It's absolutely stacked with quality, probably my favourite line up out of the 5 I've been to.

Weezer will be a blast, but judging by their placement, they're likely fourth down Pyramid or third on Other at the very best.

Yeah Weezer is the act on there that is going to probably be placed lower than you would predict.

So the first 9,8 and 9 names are singled out and we can determine stage placements. So then where do we place West Holts, Park and Woodsies headliners in those names.

So might be:

Fri

Pyramid: 1975, Biffy, Alanis

Other: Loyle Carner, Gracie Abrams

WH: Busta Rhymes

Woodsies: Wet Leg, Four Tet

Park: Maribou State

Sat

Pyramid: Neil Young, Raye, John Fogerty

Other: Charli

WH: Ezra Collective

Woodsies: Deftones

Park: Amyl

Sun:

Pyramid: Olivia, Rod, Nile

Other: Prodigy, Noah Kahan

WH: Jorja Smith

Woodsies: Wolf Alice, Libertines

Park: Overmono

or did i do this and theres been stuff broken down already

No

I completely agree, I’m shocked by the amount of good acts they’ve managed to get on it

I've got:

Biffy Clyro, Alanis Morissette, Fatboy Slim, Myles Smith, Amyl and the Sniffers, Nova Twins, TV on the Radio, Weezer,

Olivia Rodrigo, Rod Stewart, The Prodigy, Nile and Chic, The Libertines, Girl in Red, Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters, John Fogerty, Tom Odell added in the Guardian lineup.

18 in there. That's not a bad start.

In general the undercard is better than the top for me. Friday overall the weakest, Sunday strongest.

Quick second look, there are around 16 acts that are either definite or strong possibility. Pretty good for me.

Got to agree , I reckon for us there’s going to be a lot of clashes. Once the stage timings are announced there’s going to be some serious negotiations with Mrs C😊😉

Hideous problem already on Saturday. Charli/Doechii/Leftfield (possibly, but they may be on later)

Glastonbury can't have a worldie every year, and that doesn't mean they're struggling either.

Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure is generally regarded as one of the best trio of headline sets we've had in the last decade-and-a-half, I'd argue.

Out of interest, who are generally considered to be the weakest headliners in the last 15 years in terms of size? Kasabian, Mumford & Sons, Florence & the Machine (late replacements obvs), SZA? Those four are clear of the rest really aren't they?

I'm normally an incredibly reactionary person, but I've held off a lot today to let the lineup settle in, look over it again a few times, and I think it's actually made me a bit sad.

I think it's first made me sad because it's made me very aware of the fact that I'm getting older, and I'm starting to get out of touch with what is apparently popular these days. It's not a nice feeling realising you've become Principal Skinner.

The next reason it's made me sad, is I think that maybe the magic of the festival has worn off. Maybe it's a general thing, maybe it's just me, but I think the festival has lost the ability to pull in the big stars. Looking beyond the headliners, we've got a lot of things which look to be pretty landfill. Look back in the last decade or so and check out some huge names that somehow ended up on in the middle of the day or just came out of nowhere that made us go "Wow, where did that come from!?" Just off the top of my head, I'm thinking we've seen Billie Eilish and Stormzy play daytime sets, we've had Pharrell sub Kanye West, we had Miley Cyrus pop up out of nowhere in 2019. Motorhead were just thrown in the 2015 lineup.

Where has that magic gone? Instead of them dropping the poster like "Oh yeah by the way we snagged Sabrina Carpenter to go on after Rod Stewart", we have Doechii as probably the biggest WOW artist on the lineup (no shade at her, she's cool AF), and even then we all kinda suspected she'd be there. We didn't even get Pulp.

I honestly think the festival know the lineup isn't great, and I think they knew it last year too. I absolutely think it's by design that the last two years, the lineup just dropped with little fanfare. Nothing to celebrate headliners, bar a post about Rod Stewart and Neil Young throwing a strop before he was announced. It's all just a little underwhelming to me.

Sadly, I think I may have seen the farm for the last time a couple of years ago, because I don't know if, as an adult with increasing responsibilities, I can justify the price of a ticket next to the lineup when they're as lacklustre as this one.

I think this depends on if you're looking at it from a perspective of when they were booked, or how you see them now. I don't think you could consider 2014 Kasabian or 2013 Mumfords weak, though they would be if booked today. Potentially controversial, but I think booking Kendrick for 2020/2022 was a weak booking at the time. In 2025, he'd be the shot in the arm this festival needs but at the time I think he was a waste, as I wouldn't see him as a returning headliner.

Yeah, definitely.

I think 1 and 2 are SZA and Arcade Fire, with which order you put them in depending on whether you're talking about amongst the Glastonbury audience or the general public at large. After that the conversation becomes very blurry and difficult to quantify.

No it's the children who are wrong!

In all seriousness, though, is there somebody on this lineup that is a huge coup or surprise that I am unaware of?
