Glastonbury festival lineup 2025

I don't want to get into any arguments regarding whether or not you think this has an adverse effect on the quality of the artists. But I don't think that anyone can argue with the fact that the lineup is continuously becoming more diverse in terms of both genre and artist demographic. 

If the line up is becoming more diverse (personally I think it’s always been so) then it’s a really good thing. Increasing female and black/ethnic (whatever term you want to use) is absolutely the way to go. Maybe it will help diversify the demographic of punters, which has become noticeably more “white” over the years (IMO). 
 

Just looking at “dance music”, for example, again IMO, the best DJ’s of recent years are women.

 

Anyway I suggest you look at Download or Leeds/Reading, cheaper and easier to get tickets

It's a great line up for me. Loads of stuff further down on that poster so far which means I'll probably have almost solid days from stages opening to evening as I did last year really. Maybe not so much for me at Headliner time again, but I'm sure something will sort it's self out when the stages become clear. Doechi and Neil Young is a clash I wanted to avoid, I'd see either.

It's certainly a possibility.  Seemed like an obvious booking based on their tourdates.

Part of the reason it pulled more Indie Rock was that there was more Indie Rock in the charts and on the radios. Glastonbury, in line with its ethos of being a contemporary arts festisval has become more diverse in terms of its artists, with more rnb, hip hop, dance music and pop because that is what is popular in the charts and on the radio.

I thought they self confirmed? It’s a shame though as they seem to do loads of festivals.

I think they may have been replaced by Maribou State for the WH "electronic" headliner slot. I don't think they've ever left a WH headliner out of the initial poster.

Would I personally prefer somebody else than The 1975? Having seen them before Dolly Parton, yes I would. They aren’t for me. But do I care, no.

Didn't go to the pyramid at all last year, and doubt i'll go again this year. Real shame because it's the greatest stage in the world IMO and i've seen some amazing things there over the years.

 

Point is, I had the best festival yet in my 8 Glastos last year. If your festival relies on the first lineup being good - you are basically just getting the TV experience.

You can still say it's the best place in the world whilst having a moan about the lineup. Wednesday/Thursday are the best days for me.

 

But Glastonbury gives me a chance to see big acts that I wouldn't go to see by themselves, or don't normally play festivals. I just think it's missing that this year (Alanis aside).

 

It'll still be the best week of the year, and I'm currently working my way through the Spotify playlist, and passing on recommendations to other people in my group. 

 

When people say it's the same every year, would be really interested to see if anyone moaned when the 2022 lineup got announced?

2022 a little different given it came after a global pandemic. Think for a lot of people, it was just the release of being able to go once again.
