Very, very small increase in prices.

 

This year, 2-person scout was £450 and 4-person Belle £950. That's 1.11% on the scout and 2.63% on the Belle.

We camped here in 23 and there was no issues with parking. Has something happened?

increased capacity?

reduced car park?

 

Wasnt there this year so cannot comment

I guess getting one by yourself isnt the best value. Bleh

 

when i got it for 2020 it was way less so yeah, bit of sticker shock now.

Car park is half the size, land taken by Holt Farm. 

 

Many people caught out by it this year. The guide was not written like this for last year's on sale.

I still can't get my head around people paying (decent) hotel prices to stay in a tent.  I'm sure some of these tents would retail for less than the hire cost too.  Bonkers!

Am with here, it’s complete madness and yes you can bell tents for less than the hire cost

It's to each their own, but most of the options work out to be ~£250pp, which if you're staying the 5 nights is £50 per night.

 

People are more than willing to spend £50 per day for some comfort, not worrying about parking, not queueing up for entry, flushable toilets, showers, quiet campsite, etc. It's not too outrageous - but it's certainly a luxury item that isn't necessary.

 

We did it last year and won't hesitate to go back next year - the thing that got me the most was the enormous queues on the regular camp sites for food, toilets and water in the morning.

The people who rent the tents to the festival get a fraction of that amount too.

When was the last time you stayed up all night to drive 400 miles, to drag your tent and gear 1.5 miles, to then queue for 4 hours to get in the site Skip?

I'm contemplating it this year because we got Thursday coach tickets. Means we don't have to waste time trying to find space & pitching the tent when we've already lost a whole day of the fest.

The big advantage of the pre erected tents at WV for me is the short walk from the car park to the tents. Although you do feel a bit like a battery hen in the regimented rows and rows of identical tents.😉. The climb up to the site isn’t too bad though the new steps havnt yet been subjected to mud and rain. That was a bit of a slog in the mud of 2016 up the old path.

Worthy View: How many can you buy at once? If there’s a few couples who want 2 man tents but to be near each other?

Quiet is nearer to gate c. Although it's closer to the SE corner, it's less of a walk and usually a bit less crowded. It's the first 4 or 5 fields usually

First timer this year and booked camper vans east standard (not quiet) and I was taken by surprise that quiet was closer!

 

I would book quiet next time for a shorter walk although I have to say non-quiet was also pretty quiet - although i was basically only back at camp to sleep I don't think there was anything that I would consider unquiet in any way.

 

TBH the walk was fine anyway (about a beer's worth by my measure) even including The Hill Of Mild Inconvenience.

 

I actually find the background noise of SEC pretty soothing so quiet being a bit closer to the noise would work for me anyway!

I campervanned with a friend last year but he decided to give 2025 a miss. This time round it's gonna be just me and my daughter so I am thinking of booking Sticklinch or WV.

 

Any recommendations for 2 person accommodation and can anybody give me an idea of what the demand is like? Campervan ticket seemed reasonably ok to get hold of last year, is the demand for prepitched more or about the same?

 

We're not divas btw, something pretty basic would be more than enough, I just like the idea of not needing to worry about finding a pitch and having (slightly?) better access to toilets & showers.

 

Edit: we are coming by coach, so car parking and having access to car isn't a concern.

I think you can book 2. The easiest way is to decide a group name. Then everyone can book their own tent and enter the group name (there’s a field for it on the form). Your tents will then be allocated in a row next to each other. We’ve done it this way for years (we have had 3-4 tents each time). Never had problems.
