She was 20 minutes late at Cardiff

The setlists are also embarrassingly short, especially considering the pricing of tickets - 1 hour and 25 minutes on average this tour, and that includes two songs that aren't actually live (just pre-recorded and projected on the screen), plus a few interludes/monologues.

I'm a huge fan of her, NFR and BTD are both near impeccable albums in my opinion. I saw her on the Other Stage in 2023 and have tickets for Wembley Stadium on Thursday. But she can't ever headline Glastonbury. She has such little regard for her fans, it's too much of a risk for Emily Eavis to take with how many other (more reliable) options they have.

It's a huge shame, but sadly I doubt it will ever happen, and my head says I don't think it should either.

Ahh. My friend was at Cardiff and said she was on time! Apologies I was trusting her.

Completely understand what you're saying it's a real shame as she has a superb catalogue of songs and could easily fill a 2 hour slot with cross generational appeal.

But I do agree, unless some stuff is rectified Emily won't take the risk.

NFR being pre recorded was a massive let down for me personally, the set was gorgeous and she sounded great. But definitely needs to play an extra 30 minutes at least.

Ghost is a great shout actually. Wonder if Deftones could also do it if their popularity keeps up. Same with the MCR mention I’ve just seen which would be terrific! Someone like Slipknot would be incredible but still unsure if that would happen.

I was wondering which rappers or R&B acts could feasibly do it. If Donald Glover plans to reschedule those cancelled shows maybe he could do it as Gambino? Cardi B? Post Malone at a push unless we’re at a point where Pyramid headliners don’t need to fill the field (same goes with Tyler, The Creator). Doubt someone like Playboi Carti would be booked, at least not for a few years. Would maybe say Tyla for a R&B act but think she could also do a Pyramid slot.

I was going to say "Tyler is probably the best shout for drawing a crowd and having a spectacle of a show... but he talks a lot about how high his fee is and I doubt he'd do it for a discount otherwise he'd have probably been other stage material after Flower Boy"

But then I remember he wasn't allowed in the country till mid-2019 so maybe he missed his other stage period and will just go straight to Pyramid.

Do people think Bob Dylan is an option? Seems unlikely but he could put together one hell of a setlist if he deviated from his normal routine of playing obscurities.

As a Pyramid headliner?

Not in any way whatsoever.

He'd need to be much further down the bill, as he was last time he played.

Yeah I think Igor era Tyler would’ve been maybe Other sub and if he had played during Call Me If You Get Lost he would’ve done Other headliner probably. Now with Chromakopia under his belt and his live shows being pretty excellent I do think he can go straight to Pyramid headliner when he does play.

Pyramid headliner or legends spot in my opinion - any lower would be underselling one of the greatest songwriters of all time - he's got the tunes to do it if he doesn't do his usual trick of not playing them. He's a bigger deal than Neil Young to start with.

Even if he could somehow be convinced to do a "Greatest Hits" set - He'd still do it with largely unrecognisable arrangements and it's debatable whether he's capable of performing versions that'd go down well with a wider audience at this point.

I appreciate that he's a genuine legend of music, has an incredible back catalogue, and so obviously deserves huge respect - but in 20225 he's utterly unsuitable for a big slot at a major festival. When he played in 1998 he was third from top on the Pyramid - but in all honesty I think even that kind of placement would fall flat these days.

Who is Zach Bryan? Never heard of him….

Sold out 2 hyde park shows, is a country artist, plenty of country acts who are ridiculously big over here, Luke combs and Morgan wallen being another two.

How about BTS then?

BTS/ Radiohead/ Taylor Swift - something for uh everyone.

Nothing for me there so not something for everyone. Would be a crap lineup.

Re BTS - I mean their big enough to do it, definitely. However most of their UK chart success has come from a small number of fans gaming the chart rules and pushing the songs to chart and then the songs rapidly falling out the chart - which when in era of streaming big successful artists have very long chart runs. I think a lot of people would only know a few BTS Songs and not be very engaged in that crowd.  Reckon they'll play Wembley Stadium for a few nights next time they come here.

Rock Act:  Foo Fighters (its time 😔) or Oasis (if still about)

Pop Act:  Chappell or Sab Carp

Heritage Act:  Stevie

Wildcard Act: Sleep Token or Zach Bryan

Acts likely ruled out by the fallow year or timing more generally:  Sam Fender / Radiohead / Boss / Swift

Can't edit this post but Green Day should also be in the Rock Act line.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
