2027 Headliners

Guest

Recommended Posts

I think they will continue with the trend of younger artists in 2027. Artists like Swift, Gaga and Rihanna are too unpredictable for a 2027 booking.

My guess is Sam Fender / Chappell Roan / Muse to keep the dads happy.

Sam Fender, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles

Hozier, Paramore, Yungblud Pyramid subs

The XX, Chemical Brothers, Bring Me The Horizon Other headliners

Bryan Adams or Stevie Nicks Legend

Kind of wouldn't be against Chems as a Pyramid headliner to be honest. Visuals are off-the-charts and would be amazing on the Pyramid. Especially if Glasto are (likely) forking out big bucks for Gaga and Styles in your scenario above, could be a good option.

They've done the Other what feels like a billion times in the last 10 years and I think the way the Glasto demographic is headed, with an increased emphasis on electronic / dance music, they could be a nice fit. If they put them on the Other, they'd draw a Pyramid-sized crowd like they always do (might be misremembering but 2019 felt really busy).

Might not be the most exciting booking but it is a guaranteed smash-hit and kind of ticks both the legend / legacy act box and the electronic act box.

My understanding is that the Chems have been offered Pyramid in the last ten years but turned it down as they prefer to do Other Stage

Are we ruling out Oasis? I know 'money' is the usual excuse why they won't but if this year's run of shows go well, the might see it as a victory lap, and they do have a lot of history with the fest.

A wait and see I reckon. There's 2026 mumurs - if that ends up happening, then I think they'll be in the discussion for 2027.

See how 2025 pans out first, though.

The Cure have to be in the conversation for 2027 or 28. There will have been 7 years gap by 2028 and the festival was supposed to happen in 20 and 21. If Oasis don't happen then I'd put them in the 2027 conversation. If they tour nezt year which I'm expecting then it's probably unlikely they'll be around any later than 2027. However, if Fender doesn't play until 2028 then there is mo reason they couldn't have both with a female act. Plenty of age gap still between Bob Smith and Noel for example to have a heritage, female and rock act in Oasis in.

Liam Gallagher described playing the pyramid stage as playing to 'jamboree teachers' - he didn't rule out playing another stage though. Although Oasis are too big for even the other stage, maybe a secret set?

Was going to have an early crack at a line-up but think some non-headline acts we could see on the farm (album cycles depending, of course):

  • Deftones (if not then 2028)
  • Phoebe Bridgers
  • Tate McRae
  • Renee Rapp
  • Magdalena Bay
  • Lily Allen
  • Kano
  • The Last Dinner Party
  • Alabama Shakes
  • Laufey
  • King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
  • Paris Texas

I think Oasis might've been likelier to be in the chat for 2026 if the festival is to be active. But yes Liam Gallagher's comments also made me think he doesn't want to do it.

Surely a return of Oasis to Knebworth next year is a possibility, then maybe after that they'll go away for a bit.

The Cure likely in 2028, because that wraps the fifty-year anniversary. Could well be their farewell show a la Elton John.

Think Fender wraps touring off this record start of next year, launches into 2027 summer season with album four and gets this one ticked off. Another top ten hit this week - still highly unusual for a rock act - makes me think that staying power is assured.

Chappell Roan remains a weird one. Need to see how the second record lands. Ditto Sabrina Carpenter.

Lady Gaga would be expensive, even at a lowered price, but firmly a favourite. Among the homegrown British and Irish contingent, you're looking at Fender, Dave, Harry Styles, Fred again.., and then likely Fontaines DC, Bring Me the Horizon and Sleep Token circling as outside bets. (The R+L spot and Download spot for the latter two play a big part in my thinking.)

Is Rihanna ever actually going to tour again? Genuinely not a clue.

What would people's thoughts be on Calvin Harris as a Friday night - with 45  UK Top 40 hits and 31 Top 10 hits it'd be hard to argue he isn't big enough. It would also be the 20th anniversary of his debut album I Created Disco.

Could put a banger of a setlist together with his hits.

Was musing why fallow year a year early and that can only be because headliner for 2027 required that year to play. No idea but they would have to be huge to justify the delay

Simon and Garfunkel finally burying the hatchet and doing one last show together before they both cark it?

I'm genuinely very excited for 2027 feels like there could be some great options. Lorde, Chappell Roan, Rihanna, Lady Gaga could all be around and get the nod.

Excited to see how Raye does, her set this weekend was fantastic on the TV and could be there in 2 years time.

Lana is easily big enough but depends on her relationship with the festival after the last time.

Taylor Swift may start a new album cycle and I still hope that finally happens one day.

As for bands Fontaines DC, Wolf Alice and Idles are growing and also keen to see if Tame Impala return with a big single or two.

Highly doubt Lana gets asked back after last time and even if she did she's clearly got a massive ego and would probs say no.

Indeed that's why I put the disclaimer next to it. But let's see what happens in the next two years.

There's as much chance of Lana playing as Bob Vylan being invited back. Good thing too as her music is crap.

She was immense at Woodsies/John Peel in 2022, and I admire her dearly.

She could certainly top the bill on a day at Woodsies or The Park, I reckon

Honestly I do think she could headline one of those stages or maybe Other sub/3rd Pyramid if her next album does really well which I have no reason to think it won’t.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
