Absolutely gutted, kept checking all day yesterday and even just before I went to sleep at around 22:30, guess it just isn't to be this year.  Well done those who managed to get a place.

Congrats everyone!!

I've been lurking on this thread for weeks and had distill running for a lot longer but after yesterday afternoon's disappointment I thought it best I take some time away from the laptop.. d'oh!

It sounds like there might be more spots added over the next couple weeks?

My partner got a ticket a couple months ago so I'm desperately trying to find place too. I know it's a big ask but if anyone is able to help i'd really appreciate it

I'd love to know the mechanics of the releases - whether it was always intended to do 2 drops yesterday or website overload / other prompted the later release.

 

Seems like way more people had joy last night (here and elsewhere) than the telegraphed 1430 release.

 

Already had an Oxfam spot but also managed to get a space for a friend.

I think the chances of getting a good answer to that are near zero. Most people won't know - and the few that do know (probably limited to half a dozen people in the Oxfam office) aren't going to be talking.

Thank you, that's very kind! I can also drop a message here if I see a drop 🙂

 

I managed to set mine to refresh every minute but I'm not sure if even that'll do the trick! I did check the page at about midnight and there was nothing there unfortunately

In my experience you need to use the paid for Distill via the desktop app or browser extension and have it checking every 5 secs.

Amazing for everyone who managed to get places yesterday afternoon and last night!

 

Pretty frustrating for myself though, as I was refreshing the page repeatedly throughout the day and around 10pm was when I stopped so I just missed more appear.

My interpretation/conjecture is that the two drops on one day was not 'by design'.

The evidence is that the site was inundated (no surprises there - I was certainly not lightening its workload!), and they had to suspend the auction and took the whole transaction offline with a kinda "Trading is suspended" message on the page for a few minutes.  There may have been some messy placements to sort out so they needed a bit of time, rather than just immediately continuing the sale.

Then they pushed out the rest of the places late at night.  And I'm sooo glad they did cos I was one of the people who had been frozen out at 2:30 pm.

Agreed - by a ratio of about 7-to-1.

 

Leads me to think that the Oxfam site was inundated pretty much as soon as the floodgates opened !  It's almost as if there are still a lot of enthusiastic punters ?! ;-)
