Might just be me, but Faithless seems an almost shoe-in for this now after being added to Pinkpop? Have them close The Barn or Klub C one night, I'm sure they've got a long relationship with the festival, loads of appearances in the late 90s/00s and a couple of TW Classic/Boutique shows

I’m pretty sure they’re ruled out due to being at another festival

Ah possibly, I just had a look on their website and there was no Belgian date so put 2 and 2 together, which usually results in me getting 367 with festivals these days haha.

I need an announcement of sorts soon haha. After a year off with doing some other things in life, I've got my UK festivals sorted for next year (Tramlines/Kendal), my rock fest (RfP) so I want a 'big' festival in the diary for my big year. It's between Werchter, Pinkpop and potentially Hurricane at this point; Pinkpop played their hand now, just need an announcement from the other two within the next week or so so I can get locked in before the travel costs and such like price me out

Yeah the overseas festivals confuse me with who shares and who doesn’t!

Im sure if an announcement isn’t today then it’ll be tomoz.  Need to see that next batch which gets the excitement levels up.

Realistically it should be:

20 or so this week

Handful of Belguim acts next week

20 or so more to fill the main stages in the first 2 weeks of Feb

The Slope in mid to end Feb

I was thinking they have more chance of pukkelpop, with there set up having more stages and it not being really faithless.

Then I looked they are in Norway (2 dates) over pukkelpop weekend.

Massive faithless fan, although not very keen post maxi.

Yeah, I was just thinking today purely because the other ones this year have been a Thursday. I do feel as though we're close though. Franz Ferdinand and Weezer being all but confirmed is a great start for me, just want to see what other tricks they've got up their sleeve...

I've always loved them from being young but things never quite worked out for me to see them with Maxi sadly. So therefore I have no frame of reference, but I had a great night seeing this new version of Faithless in Newcastle last year, really delivered for me.

They play Nieuwpoort Beach Festival, a small belgian festival.

Pinkpop name drops are consistently the perfect remedy against complaints for the RW lineup :). Especially the last couple of years that RW is not what it used to be, the moment that I feel like RW’s lineup is not great (for my taste) Pinkpop comes to remind me that there is much much worse out there 😅!

Unfortunately I don’t see NIN at RW anymore due to Graspop and Roskilde.  With Graspop they share names sometimes but it’s very rare and usually when something have gone wrong, like a cancellation (FNM 4 years ago for example).

Saturday still needs a strong co-head next to SF. I had hopes for NIN lately but I’m afraid it will just be OATW.

So based on nothing but me being bored at work I think for the next announcement:

Acts we know - Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, Nia Archives

Big ish act supporting Sam Fenders day - Oscar & The Wolf

Crossover acts with NOS, Mad Cool and Pinkpop - Bloc Party, Jet, Cypress Hill, Finneas, Bright Eyes, The Teskey Brothers, Geordie Greep, Foster the People

Surprises - HAIM and Patti Smith

+ a few lower acts I’d never of guessed

I will unfortunately not make it to the Werchter dates this year (will head to Mad Cool or Nos Alive as a consolation price). I think Bright Eyes, Patti, Weezer, FF, Bloc Party, Jet and Cypress Hill would really make the line up awesome!

Looks like a good list, would be happy with it. Maybe add London Grammar based on the earlier info?

Fingers crossed for Biffy Clyro too but less confident on that.

Given how it looks now I'd rather take Pinkpop's line-up rather than RW's.. Hoping for a few of the names from there and NOS, to make RW's line-up at least acceptable.

Ahh of course forgot them, although @Ken19 has been very quiet whenever they’ve been mentioned so maybe that’s changed now.

Biffy…. I so want them there!

Yeah, the Sunday is the best. However I'd take Weezer (which we expect to come anyway), OaTW, Flogging Molly, Kid Kapichi, Cypress Hill and Faithless over most of what RW currently have locked in. In addition you have Korn, Kaiser Chiefs, Bob Vylan and BIFFY on the Sunday.

Any nothing! I give up 😂

I'm now hanging my hat on a return of the 3pm announcements (4pm Belgian time).

If not, I begin to worry that selling all of their day tickets has got them feeling that they don't have to rush...
