Well I'm thinking the next drop is coming next week due to the following week being Belgium music week (with Pommelien Thijs + a few others). I'll go for Wednesday like the last couple of years

Just to add to this, last years announcements from now:

20 Acts - 17/01

10 Belgium Acts - 22/01

18 acts - 09/02

The Slope lineup - 28/02

Full times - 12/04

That's mostly historical listeners and oldies listening to that type of music.

Weezer have more than twice the monthly listeners than fender. Around the same monthly listeners on Spotify as Muse. Bob Dylan gets more monthly listeners than both. Mitzki is another one who gets double the monthly listeners to the likes of Weezer, Muse and Fender.

Personally don't think Spotify is really a great indication on festival lineups.

Really looking forward to PDM, should be a great party. 😍

Spotify streams just fits a narrative for someone's debate. It's very easy for millions of people to press play on something they will or won't like, we're not losing sleep are we.

Often they don't even press play. A lot of songs are automatically reproduced through Spotify Radios and algorithmic playlists, also by tons of bot users.

The calm before the storm here ?

I hope we get new names as soon as tomorrow 🙏

Historically, we never used to get anything in the first two full weeks of January, and then the 6-8 names on Friday 4pm would start around the third week of Jan.

However, they're in direct competition with a lot more now and definitely seem to be getting names out earlier. As @sisco pointed out, it was the 17th Jan last year when they came with the next batch so hopefully this week could shed some light on some things!

Yeah, it’s been a Wednesday for the past two additions and based on dates for this year would make it 15th or 22nd Jan with more acts for Belguim music week the WC 27th Jan.  Then finally a final package at the start of Feb.

The 6-8 names on Friday 4pm tradition died quite a few years ago, no?

Yeah, it was starting to fade out pre-Covid but it's definitely been big batch names since they came back afterwards. They're not oblivious to the fact that people want to get things booked up in advance with the prices of everything going up and up, it's definitely a good thing.

Wouldn't surprise me if we're looking at next week, something to raise the spirits as we get towards the end of Jan. I hope it's the 15th though.

Yeah I was initially thinking this week as I thought the Belguim music week was the same date every year…. It’s not.  So I’m more inclined to think next Weds now and then the Belguim acts the week after

Do you think there are realistic chances for:

- Nine Inch Nails

- Air

- Massiv Attack

?

Thanks!!

I think Nine Inch Nails stand a chance. They played many times before.

Massive attack and Air are not as likely I think. The latter is playing Lokersee as well.

I thought maybe because Massive Attack do play DTRH the same Weekend.

And Air play InMusic a week before.

NIN would be epic of course… Would they probably headline The Barn? Is that one big enough though?? 😄

NIN played the Barn second to last back in 2018. But it was packed to say the least😉

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
