"Today we unveil no fewer than 20 new names joining the line-up! Thursday 3 July will see De La Soul returning to the festival - they were here back in 1990, the first to bring hip-hop to Werchter. With GLINTSAL, Rock Werchter 2025 is guaranteed to kick off in style. Other newly confirmed acts on Thursday will be Nia Archives, Ezra Collective, Alessi Rose and Mother Mother. Taking to the stage on Friday 4 July will be, among others, Weezer, Caribou, Warhaus, Arsenal, The Backseat Lovers, Dikke and Sylvie Kreusch. Performing on Sunday 6 July will be Pommelien Thijs, David Kushner, Shaboozey, Dasha, Wunderhorse, Bolis Pupul and Jokke."

I’ll believe it when I see it.

Friday afternoon seems like a bit of a weird time to announce anything.

Hopefully something is coming over the next week or so.

Proof, once again, that I know absolutely nothing.

Happy with wunderhorse. Sad that there is a lack of Saturday additions

The reaction on social media to it is quite poor. I've got two names out of that myself.

This announcement didn't have much but the line-up was already stacked- with big headliners like Olivia, Green day and Linkin Park- there wasn't so much scope for many more big names. I think people are still hoping or expecting for a big name for the Saturday- even if Sam Fender is headlining, it looks like it's still missing a strong placement.

The Friday looks about as good as it gets for me.

Green Day, Weezer, Underworld, Caribou, Wet Leg and Girl in Red is amazing, clashes permitting.

This lineup drop has also led me to discover a few new artists, particular Belgian, so that’s another bonus.

Sylvie Kreusch and Pommelien Thijs both sound great to me on first listen.

And still half the acts to come! Think it’s 51 announced, 49 to go!

The strange thing is there are zero names I was expecting 🤣
Bloc Party, TV on the Radio, Foster the People, Kaiser Chiefs, Refused, St. Vincent, Glass Animals, Turnstile, Sex Pistols, Benson Boone... Even Franz Ferdinand still weren't announced officially.
Maybe for the next batch. Last year we got full poster on 29th of February.

So last year they had a standalone announcement for the Belguim acts so it’s almost like they’ve just done that and then thrown a couple in for the sake of it.

St. Vincent is playing Gent Jazz on July 15 so she’s ruled out.

No Franz Ferdinand is a surprise. They have an Antwerp show early March but it’s been sold out for a while. They might still wait after that show to announce.

I was looking for a couple of these as well. Still room for some major additions to the line up. Roll on July.

Thursday, Friday and Sunday are incredibly strong.

Sure Saturday is slightly weaker but it's not bad- maybe they have something up their sleeve.

I wouldn't say Sunday is incredibly strong at all for what a usual Werchter crowd are looking for.

I'll agree to disagree on the whole but I'll accept you have your own likes. The fact people are commenting so much on the Saturday tells you what an incrredibly weak booking it is for a major Belbium Rock Festival. It looks like it's missing a day of bookings lol, not just a strong placement.

So far for me:

Thursday - 2 must sees + 4 more i’d want to see

Friday - 1 must see + 3 more I’d want to see

Saturday - 1 must see + 3 more I’d want to see

Sunday - 2 must sees + 2 more I’d want to see

There’s also plenty I’d see if nothing else was on.

More than happy with that when half the lineup is still to come

A couple of solid additions for me there today; Weezer, Backseat Lovers, Wunderhorse, De La Soul, Caribou all fun names. Friday looking very stacked for me.

Makes sense to have no Franz since they were on the Saturday on that leaked poster and they’ve omitted anything from Saturday for this announcement. The fact that they haven’t announced anything for that day makes me think there’s something in the background that they’re working on.

Going to hold off committing for now as I’m going to roll the dice on that Black Sabbath gig first, if I fail to get tickets though I think this could end up being a fairly solid back up once they flesh out the undercard a bit more with a few of the names mentioned here.

(Has anyone got an updated poster by the way?)

Do we have any idea about ticket prices yet? Could not find anything. I’m expecting at least £150 anyway.

I’m doing Oasis in Cardiff the day before so I’m quite tempted.

The only basis I have for anything is this post from the Download forum, no idea how much truth is in it but it’s the only thing I’ve seen

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
