As things are standing right now, this will be the final 4 of the main. But not every act is a 100% for each spot right now, some other things still in the works.

It it possible to confirm the presence of Weezer and Franz Ferdinand (that was "leaked" by Elbow)?

They will be there. Not unusual that the announcement changes at the final moment. Same with the first drop of 14 names.

You guys think U2 could come out of the Sphere for an EU tour ?

Probably not for festivals given they don't really seem to have been that kind of band save for one-offs like Glastonbury 2011 or Bonnaroo in 2017.

In any case, recent interviews given around the 20th anniversary re-release of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb say they're still working on a new album and that it sounds like their likely tour for it won't be until 2026. Which is almost a decade on from their last Euro tour tbf - think their last proper Euro run was 2018.

Hello everyone. We’re highly likely to attend Rock Werchter for the first time next year. Could anyone please answer a couple of questions?

1. Is there anything on other than music? Or are the 4(?) stages pretty much all?

2. does anyone with experience of camping in the Hive know the difference between a regular tent and an ‘Apollo’ tent?

Thank you

Just out of curiosity. What are typical reasons for this? Is it band-related or is it more tactial reasons from organizers? For instance in Weezer's case, they've announced planty of dates already, so I couldn't find any obvious reasons to why they were left out of this announcement.

Aside from the 4 stages there are lots of food and drink stalls, a couple of official merch, and a handful of retail partners - mostly trying to get more local folks to sign up for cheaper energy, flogging expensive sunglasses, etc. There are a couple bars where you can drink out of a 'real' glass and there's also a dance area with DJs near West Side Walls. There's no fairground rides or anything like that, or clothing sellers that you may see at other festivals. There's lots of space to sit and chill between music. On the street outside you'll find more (generally cheaper) food and drink stalls which you can pay for in cash/card, unlike the ones inside which you need to purchase "coins" which get loaded to your wristband. Back at the Hive there's a dance tent which goes from early evening til late, as well as a bar where you can take a drink before/after going to the main arena. Can't help with the different tents, sorry!

Thanks. That’s really helpful.

Areas for sitting and chilling sounds perfect.

Communication and clearance from the agents. Intention was to announce Weezer and FF too, because it could improve the ticket sales (typical names that could interest the combi buyers). On the other hand, agent Mark Ambor was pushing to announce, was not in the original batch.

That „UK/EU…stay tuned👀“ hint that Jack White added to his US tour announcement made me think he‘s certain for festivals this summer. With an announcement being imminent.

But with line ups filling up I don‘t see a clear pattern where he could fit.

Werchter/Mad Cool/NOS?

…or Pukkelpop / Lowlands?

None of them?

I kinda doubt he‘s back here in August honestly cause with Oya/WoW/Syd for Solen he already played the most fitting festivals for him in that timeframe this year didn‘t he?

Is he still an option for Werchter? @Ken19?

Might still be a sub or barn headliner spot available for him. We all thought Fontaines were sub on their day and then Deftones have been announced and placed above them on the poster.

Could see Green Day - Jack White - Simple Minds for example?

Interesting you mention that. I started to be won over into buying a combi just when I heard of Weezer and FF😉

Since Sziget gone very electro, I'm serously thinking going to Wercher for the first time... I tell myself " the festival where Jimmy Eat World and/or Biffy Clyro go, I go !" ^^

Do you guys think there's any chances for them ..? Did they already attend this fest' ?

Just a heads up you won't find 2 more different festivals in Sziget and Werchter.

JEW and Biffy both playing Southside.

I know Sziget and Werchter are very different, but its time to try something else ! 🙂

And for Southside, thanks I saw that, but it's at the same time as HellFest, and this fest' is a must every year for me 😉

I think JEW might still be likely along with Weezer for the Friday. Ken had hinted before that Friday should get some more similar names to Green Day and I think they'd both help with that in mid/late afternoon slots on the main.

Biffy I think we are less confident on for Rock Werchter, and I'm less sure where they would fit with the available slots.

I believe Biffy are too "big" for the remaining slots ..? thanks ^^ Let's hope JEW will be here then !

@Ken19, if you can't reveal the truth yet, can you at least tell us if there's "negociatons" with one of these bands, or if it is a dead end .. ?

Jack White is a headliner, or am I misreading his popularity?

If he does tour Europe in the summer, looks like a potential Roskilde headliner.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
