Which mobile network?

I have a Samsung so use my Sim Manager settings to use Sim 2 Lebara for data then set  to redirect calls and text through my Sim 1 O2. If you Google Sim Manager for your make of phone it should give you instructions.

Apologies if I sound stupid here but I'm clueless with a lot of this stuff.

I have a iPhone 13 mini on o2,  what do I need to do to use another network at the festival?

Do I just activate one of these esims just before the festival then switch networks when I'm on site? Is it that simple?

It should be, once you have your eSIM installed, just go into Settings, Mobile Service, Mobile Data and switch it between your primary (physical SIM) and secondary (eSIM). You'll still get calls through on your primary number, just data will use your eSIM

Great thank you!

Are 'esims' delivered instantly?  Or should I load it up a few days before the festival?

Should be instant once you jump through all the registration hoops. I would do the jumping at least a day before so I don't have to deal with that on the farm.

Great thank you - might do it the w/e before just to be safe.

Any 'esim' recommendations?  I won't be using it heavily...mainly for WhatsApp and the odd phone call.

I use esim.sm but that's usually for when I'm travelling overseas. It's  all very easy to install and they send you a detailed explanation about how to set everything up in advance of when you need it.

For info - last year for Voda this year too - they had a 3 year contract, so covering '23, '24 and '25 festivals. So probably not worth any long term commitment on sim deals.

Could be anyone in 2027 - hopefully not O2 😄

Vodaphone do a pay as you go one which you can just stop - I’ll just keep it going for festival season over the summer to give me alternative options to O2 and hopefully have a better signal at Glastonbury

Thanks.

Assume you select one of these then select esim?

Did something similar to this last year after 3 was cack in 2023

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/get-100gb-lebara-5g-data-100-international-minutes-for-ps110pm-for-7-months-ps1190-after-get-50gb-for-ps1-for-8-months-then-ps990-4595560

About £8 quid total for loads of data for months, you even get some abroad if you're going on holiday too

Make sure you have a dual sim phone or covert your usual number to eSim, just remember to cancel it before it goes up in price

Will be doing the same again this year

I used https://maya.net/esim/uk for an eSIM last year following the below advice and it worked great for me! I got the 3gb and that was plenty for my needs. I’m not that tech savvy but found it easy to set up as did someone else in my group. No need to do anything with your existing sim to use it either.

If you want an esim, the one shared by @gooner1990 below seems to be five times the data as that for only 3 quid more?

Anyone got any intel on whether or not you’ll be able to get the free week-long Vodafone e-sim that was offered through the Glastonbury app last year? Was an absolute godsend on-site last year.

id imagine that will get announced with or just after the app release ? would be sensible marketing

I am a long time lurker who logged in just to make this point! Don’t rush to buy SIMs and data plans without checking this out first!

It worked great in 2025. You could download and install the eSIM yourself, or they were quite helpful at the Vodafone tent setting it up for one of my friends.

I think I somehow set up my phone to use my existing O2 SIM for calls and text, and whichever of the two had better signal for data use. Meant that WhatsApp worked really well all weekend.

details from 2024 https://www.vodafone.co.uk/newscentre/press-release/free-esim-network-trial-at-glastonbury-festival-2024/

this press release suggests they will be doing it again https://www.vodafone.co.uk/newscentre/press-release/esim-london-free-network-trial/

“Vodafone intends to expand the trial across various cities in 2025 and will also offer it at events throughout the summer, including Glastonbury Festival and Boardmasters Festival.”

I used the free Glastonbury Vodafone one last year, anyone know if it will be unavailable as I’ve used it in the last 12 months? Just a warning if you have both networks connected it killed my battery, probably O2 constantly searching for a signal, so I turned that off in the end

Thanks for this! When I saw this last year i thought you had to go to their tent to get it which I couldn’t be bothered to do, but getting it direct from the app sounds great. Did you load it before getting on site or just when you got there?
