I just can't see the festival deciding to close the Pyramid with Olivia Rodrigo... not after last year.   I know she's massive, but amongst the Glasto Sunday crowd (locals, lawn chairs and picknet blankets) I think there's a chance of a mass early exodus, like the scenes of last year.

I'd imagine they want to head into the fallow year with an Elton John level of Pyramid field satisfaction.

Kendrick Lemar closed in 2022, he doesnt fit the "Sunday crowd" stereotype, so I wouldn't say its out of the equation that O-Rod is Sunday night. But my gut says Saturday based on her BST and Manchester dates as someone mentioned

Friday - The 1975 v Loyle Carner

Saturday - Neil Young v Charli XCX

Sunday - O Rod v Prodigy

If this holds then Charli will have ended up in a very logical clash, which is something of a relief after baffling earlier rumours she’d be up against ‘75 or Liv. Do fancy that her crowd will end up being dangerously large, don’t fancy Shakey pulling in many punters these days, but love to be proven wrong.

I get ya. Neil Young isn't that either. Stevie Wonder...could be?

Yes indeed. If you look at the last several lineups, a headliner aimed squarely at the ‘old crowd’/picnic blanket brigade has only played the Sunday night thrice since 2010. And that’s including The Cure which is probably a stretch tbh. Clearly not something they’re unduly bothered about.

Interesting balances, would give me Friday definitely free from the main two stages, and I could be tempted away the Sunday.

Assuming Rod -> Chic -> Duran Duran completely rules out Chappell? Assumed the festival would have loved to get three out of Charli / O Rod / Chappell / Sabrina. Unless Sabrina gets some afternoon Other slot like Billie Eilish and O Rod did previous?

Despite earlier indications of 1975/Fred/O Rod and worries the festival was catering too much to the TikTokkers, it seems a lot more balanced with new rumours.

For me it would be definite Neil Young. Most probably Prodigy if nothing incredible on the smaller stages. Definately not the 1975 - find their popularity baffling, dreadful band- but Loyle Carner doesn’t get the juices going either so would poss have a night off depending on other stages, do love a “night out” at Glasto.

Disbelieving good sources didn’t have anything to do with how eFests lost in-the-know members. That was due to the previous owner, and I’m pretty sure we agree on that.

I’m aware who the knowledgeable posters used to be here and if they post elsewhere now, good for that community. They’ll be missed here and I hope they return.

But I disagree that the primary reason people are here is to get ahead of announcements. I think people post (or lurk) to be part of a community; to get exited, and to enjoy the hype. The idea that it’s all about inside info is a bit dated. People just want to feel part of if, imo.

I’ve been away for a few years, and have been wondering what’s changed? Does Neil no longer owner the site? And what happened that the ITK folks weren’t allowed to post here and then moved to discord?

2011 calling again.

so literally nobody is leaving The Pyramid field from 4pm and onward on Sunday. Thats a really heavy lean into trying to show you still cater to the older audience as a way to balance the younger acts.

I made it up

No - Iggy owns the site now and various others moderate including Crazyfool.

Long story but yes Neil sold the site, after a period of ill health during which it became increasingly clear in several ways that he was no longer a suitable owner/moderator, with the boards at one point descending into civil war. There’s now a discord server which some of the former regular posters call home, although plenty of people such as myself frequent both.

Baffled really by the neil young and the stevie wonder rumours a month or so back

All time music legends / huge stars who have done it now so a one and done.

Same with Beyonce and Adele, The stones, Dolly.      Probably bruce.

No ticket this year but he was immense back in 09,  but not really got the same casual appeal either now with the Glastonbury attendees profile.

    • Iran are winning. If US aren't going to do the full invasion thing, then they may as well admit defeat and do what is needed to get the strait opened. Iran obviously have decided they can take any pain and stick it out as they have all the cards with this Hormuz thing. But obviously Trump can't admit defeat, and Israel just want this to keep going...and maybe it will carry on like this till after elections in both US and Israel towards the end of this year. God knows how the global economy will be by then.
    • All kicking off in N Ireland, all aided and abetted on videos that get circulated on social media and Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson telling people to take to the streets. Social media needs regulating same as publishers, if they have algorithms that push whatever to people then they are effectively publishers anyway. The problem is just going to get worse and worse.
