2025 Headliners

Would Taylor showing up be completely ridiculous, I mean I do not think she will do a headline slot -  But could she show up during O-Rod set?

Yes, it's plausible that - having been booked for 2020, and now finally having a break after a marathon several years of recording and touring - she goes to the festival either to see what all the fuss is about or to watch / support a friend. Still probably a long shot though.

I'm not sure that tells us much tbh.

Don't think it's something that the bookers (especially not on the Glastonbury side) are going to take into account, or at least not consider a major obstacle, and therefore trying to draw correlation doesn't work. Ultimately the two festivals are 5,000+ miles apart, and with mostly different audiences.

That's what I mean. There's not a real history of correlation.

If I were to guess, I'd have to say

Charli XCX

Olivia Rodrigo

Muse

I think they'll get Muse in as the 'safe' bet. Their history with the festival probably buys them at least one more headline appearance, despite their waning popularity.

Would love to see Biffy headline at least Other. They absolutely tore up Pyramid when I saw them in 2017.

Can't see them legging Charli XCX up to headline this time around unless all of Fred again, Sam Fender and The 1975 have turned it down. Know it is another female headliner in a pool where the festival are determined to do better, but she's a very strong sub or Other bill-topper to me as it stands.

But Biffy Clyro would be excellent counter-booking if she did headline.

I personally think Charli is booked as Pyramid sub/Other headline, and will step up to headline if someone falls through. She's got UK shows the week before Glasto so if 100% in the frame imo.

If I were Emily Eavis, I'd book her to headline the Friday. Strike whilst the iron is hot. The likes of Olivia, Fender, 1975 don't look as though they'll decline in popularity any time soon. I can't say I'd say the same for Charli, though I hope she just gets bigger because her career speaks for itself.

Out of curiosity. Have we ever had 2 people in a relationship headline the pyramid and other at the same time? Isn't she dating someone in the 1975?

Utter power couple.

Likely top five ever

Charli XCX?

Am I following the thread right?

I last saw her play to a mostly disinterested field at All Points East in 2022.  What happened to make her a top 5 pyramid headliner? 🙂

brat, I guess. By some margin her most commercially successful album, and her most critically acclaimed.

But I think we'll have a better handle on what a Charli XCX live show looks like come next week, given the US tour was very much a collaborative affair.

For me, she's the rung below right now. An Other bill-topper, a Pyramid sub, the lower half of a R+L co-headliner. It's not to say that she doesn't step further up. Maintain the hype and momentum through the fallow year, I can buy her as a credible 2027 option.

I don't agree with the top 5 thing but she has become gigantic off the back of Brat. Hype and marketing.

Saw Charli headline glasto in 2022 and it was a 10/10 show.

360 is among my tunes of the year so far. Just bubblegum gone dirty.

I will say that a lot of the hype for CXCX seems to be her qualities as a lyricist. I think it's more hit-and-miss there - she's very postmodern, in that The 1975 way, but it also can leave it feeling pretty faux-arch to a point.

Being under the tent probably helped a bit there. Not dismissing it being a full-marks affair! But imagine it probably helped give it a quote-unquote "clubby" feel.

One thing it was not though, is packed out (probably felt it at the front, but was not further back, we walked in easily a few songs in). I haven't listened to one song from this new album, and would be elsewhere, but I think she's an obvious choice to headline based on this past year

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
