Seen Taylor Swift earlier this year at the Eras tour and she was brilliant tbf. Would be happy with her headlining a night.

but its too choreographed and rehearsed. Its not allowed anywhere that camping chairs are allowed. Lol

So how are they marketing these gigs. Women playing guitars seems like a bad thing

Every act is rehearsed.

There is a difference though between the type of performance you'd reasonably expect to see on the little girls tuned in to on the Graham Norton, or Paul O Grady show, and the kind of act you see at a festival.

There really should be very little crossover between acts that your little sister mimes into a hairbrush while jumping on the bed, and crowds singing along at a coming of age festival.

What's a coming of age festival and why are you at one?

Billy Bragg at Left Field on the Friday Night. Nailed on.

My sources agree with this 😅

It always used to be Sunday night though, back in the olden days. Not sure when it changed.

McFly at download.. what the hell

Think either them or Busted played before and it went down incredibly well- same as Glastonbury pop nostalgia is really popular an easy hit - even if it does not seem to fit the festival.  at least perhaps Download realise how popular it will be and put the on a realistic size stage -  which is something. Glastobury need to learn.

Checked Busted headlined the third stage this year.

Don't see an issue with either McFly or Busted at Download to be honest. A large part of their crowds tend to be people into rock/metal music and that's just always been the case. People drinking and singing along to cheesy lyrics, nothing new there. Your reaction to this is exactly why Download gets so many comments about it being the same line-up year after year, it doesn't have to just be Slipknot, Metallica and Iron Maiden annually.

Surprised you haven't made a 2026 and 2027 headliners thread as well.

But for real, Rihanna/Liam Gallagher/Depeche Mode

Depeche would be brilliant. So many people have not experienced their live show and if they play all the crowd favourites it would be unbelievably good! 🕺💃

Sam Fender / Rihanna / Depeche Mode (couldn’t think of anybody else for last one but if they’re still around then f**k it, why not)

Its getting load of sh*t on the download forum - but I think they have actually made a real effort to pick a different set of acts as opposed to the minimal rotation they normally have.  They should be commended for it first new headliners they have had in years.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
