They would be great I agree but unfortunately I think they are too big/expensive for GM.

Style wise, I don’t see why not. Dream pop/ shoegaze bands have previously played. As the years go on, the festival gets more and more diverse in the genres it features. I do think they need to be a little mindful of featuring artists that appeal to a younger audience; those two would fit the bill. We’ll see.

Any possibility of Justice? New album out in April and European tour dates throughout summer but nothing in UK yet. They are however playing in France on 17th Aug.

Really don’t think they’re the right fit for GM, but you never know I suppose.

I would disagree. GM love booking an electronic headliner. Caribou, Four Tet, Simian Mobile Disco and Bicep have graced Far Out or Mountain Stage all within the last few years. 

They've just been announced for Field Day on 24th August, which has shared artists with GM before. Personally, I'd absolutely love it!

Actually I think headlining Field Day puts them out of the running, it's the same capacity as GM and feels like the kind of festival that wouldn't want them to play anywhere else around the date.

Very valid. I remember seeing James Blake headline both Field Day and Green Man back in 2016. However, that was before it became part of All Points East and held in June. I imagine APE can afford to be a lot more aggressive with exclusivity deals.

Maybe, though Kraftwerk was billed as co-headliner for FIeld day and did Green Man? Are Justice being described as a festival exclusive?

Not that I can see, and they're also billed as co-headliners same as Kraftwerk. Fingers crossed they'll announce some more UK dates even if they don't grace Glanusk Park. I'd love to see them play a big outdoors show.

Obvious fit for the Death Cab / Postal Service day at APE, but that would be directly after two consecutive dates in France, so doesn't seem very likely, whereas they are completely free on GM weekend.  They are also free on what would have been Bluedot weekend (I think) so wonder if they were lined up for that before it was cancelled.

I too would love to see Justice at GM. I saw them several years ago and their live show is spectacular.

Yeah Justice would be an incredible headliner. Caribou went down great a few years back so I can't see why not. But yeah, I guess it depends on if they're a UK exclusive with Field Day / APE. Fingers crossed!

Future Islands' tour dates keep them in contention for GM. They're in Europe in early Aug and only back in North America in September

The European dates end on the 5th and are preceded by a late July UK tour, even if they did hang around for two weeks for no reason it seems unlikely they'd come back over for one date.

Great band with decades worth of quality material. Well respected live act touring one of their strongest albums in recent years. Sure I'd hate if they were added.
