  1. I know besides your point, but I was surprised Neutral Milk Hotel was such a “controversial” act. Critically, in the aeroplane over the sea is regarded as a stone cold classic. You look at RYM, and the users there have rated it so highly, it’s currently #31 of all time. In some circles, the album is regarded as the pinnacle in indie rock. This shouldn’t have been a risky act for greenman to sign, especially as the band had previously been on a hefty hiatus. Just shows how much of a difficult job they have in curating these lineups.
  2. It’s a bit soon I think. He headlined not long ago.
  3. Don’t tease like that. Would be incredible.
  4. Eugh… give us news in the bleakness of winter please, we need it less when spring hits.
  5. Didn’t understand the hate for yo la tengo.
  6. Style wise, I don’t see why not. Dream pop/ shoegaze bands have previously played. As the years go on, the festival gets more and more diverse in the genres it features. I do think they need to be a little mindful of featuring artists that appeal to a younger audience; those two would fit the bill. We’ll see.
  7. I wasn’t hugely into the smiles debut either, but enjoyed it enough. Loved the Bending Hectic track from last year and would be overjoyed to see them play GM. Only seen Radiohead once, at primavera. Lots of comments beforehand, people not fussed etc, but it was an EVENT. The crowd was packed, yet you could hear a pin drop as they began to play - the sense of drama and anticipation was incredible. I’d take a slice of that.
  8. We took our just turned 2 year old for his first greenman. It was great… probably easier before they start walking though tbh. You can just strap them to you 😂. Keep them topped up on milk and snacks. Get them used to ear defenders beforehand. We hired a trolley, but lot of people seems to take buggies (with big chunky wheels) which I think is easier; takes up less room, easier to get around.
  9. It crashed before that 😂 looks like they’d didn’t take the money. Well done to all who got them today! Shame we didn’t get any but no stress, off to fanticks in a few months I guess.
  10. My payments gone through, but have no email confirming. Also told it failed twice after trying to authorise twice. This is something else haha.
  11. Its understandable having to queue, and even understandable queuing and not getting tickets. To queue, get through to the ticket selection stage and then to be booted out is completely out of order.
  12. When I got through I went to the payment plan tickets, are there less of the payment plan tickets available? I seem to remember that was the case last year.
  13. I finaly got through and kept getting "these tickets are no longer available". Then they were again, then I failed to get to the payment screen, and now im back in a queue...
  14. I finaly got through and kept getting "these tickets are no longer available". Now its telling me adult tickets have sold out....have they?!
  15. I dont understand how some people have been in a "queue" and then been booted out to then go back in and purchase. I've been on a holding page since 10. Occasionally it says placed in a queue, then holding again....I dunno if I'm even in a queue.
  16. Was it people in the campsite causing the noise or the festival itself? I think one of our relatives camped in the quiet camping not realising he was in there, and I can’t imagine him and his crew being at all quiet. Maybe they need to mark it more clearly/move it away from the stages/entrance. we asked several stewards where the family camping was and were told it was all family camping, and that a designated area did not exist. The stewards seemed to not know a whole lot haha!
  17. Been to greenman many times over the years. With mates as a 20 something, a few times with my partner, and this year I became a trolley tw*t with our little one. Definitely did seem to be more kids than ever before, perhaps because many repeat attendees have followed the same trajectory. I didn’t really notice many getting in the way… but then with the trolley we stayed out of the FO tent (common sense?!) and away to the left hand side of the main stage. Toilets seemed clean to me. Yea they stunk, but I didn’t have to do any polishing of the toilet seats. As a man I probably didn’t see the worst of it. I really appreciate how diverse the lineups have become. Although the lineup wasn’t especially tantalising for me personally at the outset, the range of sounds collated are definitely an improvement over the early years. Ironically, I’m sure the lineups are less kid friendly these days. slowdive really cheered me up after a very hard Friday. Also found lankum to be utterly fantastic. Every band we saw exceeded expectations, and we’ll be putting our name down for next year.
  18. Can’t help with the parking info, but regarding children under two, yes they need a ticket. An infant ticket is free but as far as I’m aware, will be required. Perhaps email greenman. They’ll likely divert you to fanticks.
  19. I think the tickets are often snapped up before the alerts are even sent out… best thing to do, is open up a web browser, and download an addin to automatically refresh the web page. I used one for chrome. If you do a Google search you’ll find the addin. Set the refresh to 15 seconds and watch the screen for an hour or two. Worked for me this year and last time I was looking for greenman tickets.
  20. I can’t see it being Mac, but perhaps I just don’t want it to be haha.
  21. Someone on the other forum has said rival sons. Seems a bit odd I think? Interestingly, if you Google “rival sons greenman”, this comes up, but the page leads nowhere…
  22. Eugh, time flies. I was also watching SFA. The weather was atrocious out there and I love Slowdive, so it was a weird decision on my part. Also regret it.
  23. Everyone seems in agreement that spiritualised will be the Thursday headliner, when Devo are the legacy act. Spiritualised released a very well received album only last year… it could be as predicted but food for thought. slowdive headlined far out tent when they played back in 2017. Any idea when the next announcement might come?
  24. Or is it more about the music than the bigger names?! im happy with this, slowdive, lankum, walkmen, les savy fav are all on my very must see lists. Also at least another 5 or so I’m excited for. Spiritualised are a good headliner; they have a sound that’s going to absolutely soar on the mountain stage, have an absolute classic album, and a sizeable discography. More fitting of a headline slot than boy genius in my book.
