I saw a lot of posters around the festival site this year for Taking Back Sunday's new stuff as well, Feel like they would be a good Trees fit. 

Hoping for AFI as the first headliner but seeming likely to be Gaslight

Yes, tomorrow, literally in the post above yours. As for time, we don't know. Would imagine it might be later in the day as its presumably an American band but we shall see.

Don't think Gaslight have a South West date on their tour, so makes sense that Trees would take that spot. Probably a compromise that one doesn't eat into the other's sales as much by doing it together and gives folks chance to see them wherever is most convenient/cost effective to do so.

They did the same with Jimmy, I think it's helps to attract American bands to do it rather than them just playing to more people at Download albeit further down the bill.

they did.  I thought the Jimmy tour was around trees whereas the bulk of the Gaslight one is in March. think it could go either way in terms of Trees sales.

excited about it but hoping the rest of the line up is strong

Yup. A headline spot rather than just being 4th down Download or something as you say.

Not too bothered, but a better headliner than BFMV and Frank Carter. I'll happily watch them if there's nothing else on.

Great announcement for me, could end up dragging me to my first Trees, rare to see them at a UK festival nowadays

Decent first announcement, not sold yet though. Hoping for 2 of either AFI, Enter Shikari, Turnstile or While She Sleeps to be the other headliners

What metal/hardcore are people hoping for this year?

Personally, I think it would be good to see Knocked Loose come back. Also Harm's Way have a new album out, could potentially do a similar slot to Kublai Khan?

Trash Talk would be amazing, but I feel like they don't really play shows/exist at all anymore. Think they're tied up with their skate shop and clothing line.

Yeah, they play a few one off shows every now and then but I don't think they've been really been out of the US or done a full tour since like 2018.
