Yes, it was a true surprise and in hindsight a quality move by Elton. Better than wheeling out old hasbeens which he could easily have done.

? Idgaf how many Spotify streams he has. Wouldn’t have minded if they’d done an Elton song, but doing the guy’s own song just stuck out like a sore thumb when the rest of the setlist was wall to wall bangers.

I like how the people around me (me included) were going "who?" but as soon as he started singing the chorus, everyone knew the words! (me excluded, still had no idea, but it was a pretty good song tbf).

The guests were the major underwhelming aspect of his set, which I otherwise enjoyed. It was a shame that aspect was bigged up so much. I was surrounded by people going "who???" as the first couple were announced.

They worked well to be fair my only regret was my daughter kept hearing Britney and dua lipa was playing and was super excited to see them, her disappointment shone through her eyes but it was a good gig
