Don’t think any of those headlined? Van maybe in 82, not since.

Looking at all the previous headliners, it’s hard to see who would ‘step down’ to do the Legend slot. Stevie Wonder would be perfect, but he probably still sees himself (as it were 😬) as a headliner, as would most others

Once you get back into the 80s it's more difficult to define, as there was often quite a substantial difference between Stage Times and placement on the Poster/adverts - but it appears Van did both top the poster and close the stage in 1982.

He did also top the poster in both 1987 and 1989 (with 88 being fallow), but didn't close the stage those years. Either way he's a former headliner by any standard.

Did mention someone like Stevie Wonder doing it again when running through potential legends. Would be an ace set in the sunshine.

Always wondered what a Damon Albarn legend slot would look like. A combined Blur/Gorillaz set would surely be headline material, would need at least 2 hours to do it justice.
