Jungle headlining this? Christ they really did struggle to book headliners this year didn’t they. No way that sells well.

Jungle still a big band. They are on their way back for a while innit, having released another pretty mediocre album.

If the six days include Field Day (and they do seem to treat it as part of APE these days), then that suggests they are going to have four days on the second bank holiday weekend.

So two days first weekend, four days second weekend with the Jungle/Erykah Badu on Sat or Sun and one headliner still to leak.

if we go to Jungle, i suggest we each put a name badge on a portaloo because there will be enough for one each

having a band that wouldnt sell out a small academy tour is incredible, i just dont get it, there must of been a headliner dropout.

i just cant see them thinking yes Jungle, thats a good idea, and i like them!

The success of Jungle will surely be price related too. Crystal Palace last year was 60 quid and fees with a very minimal undercard- if All Points East is 40ish and fees plus a good undercard maybe it'll do a lot better. But seeing as Haim is also 65 quid I don't imagine Jungle will be cut price.

Is now a good time to reveal that it’s going to be a Jungle DJ set?

even with a drop out genuinely think they could be better off not opening at all with jungle

i guess the undercard was already booked

I don't think it'll sell especially well, but they're an arena band still - well outgrown the traditional academy venue level. Played Ally Pally and Victoria Warehouse. Last year I remember they did Bristol Sounds, South Facing and one of those Millennium Square dates in Leeds. Nobody would book them if they didn't shift tickets.

Sure but APE capacity is 50,000.

They are miles away from that.

im so far out of the loop

so if Jungle announced a tour they would be playing NIA, MEN, Hydro etc?

the fact i still call them that probably shows how much out of the loop i am!

I reckon in London they'd do 8-10k and outside London they'd 5k-6k. They'd maybe do those arenas, but with seating tarped off.

Think people are massively overestimating the appeal of Erykah Badu these days if they think having her listed as a co-headliner will make a lick of difference to the sales of this thing. She’s not exactly been particularly relevant or a big ticket shifter herself for some time now.

She was the very first name on (much bigger capacity) Primavera Sound’s poster the edition before last.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
