Warren Ellis

Would be fantastic. A wild card could be Peter Gabriel, but I think if it is anyone, it will be Charli XCX - "in" with the crowd, so to speak, and likely does not upstage them. (That's the risk for a special guest at this juncture. Less the case in another decade if they come back to headline again.)

Having a go at a predicted setlist. I reckon it'll be back to back hits like this

1. If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)

2. Looking for Somebody to Love

3. Happiness

4. Oh Caroline

5. I'm in Love with You

6. A Change of Heart

7. Robbers

8. Chocolate

9. About You

10. I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)

11. TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME

12. Somebody Else

13. It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)

14. She's American

15. The Sound

Encore

16. Give Yourself a Try

17. Love It If We Made It

18. New song

19. Sex

Think they'll probably stick to their hits and debut maybe 1 new song towards the end of the set.

I don't know all their tunes and wouldn't sit & listen to a full album of theirs but that looks a good setlist to me. All the hits as you say. They'll put on a great show imo.

Do we think they will bring out someone to join them or will they keep it about themselves?

Is there a chance they bring out a special guest to do the female vocals on About You?

This looks great, but there’s no way they don’t play Paris

This is why I think its perfect they haven't got new stuff out for this, that's wall to wall hits. I'm really hoping my shifts allow me to see this, last one was Reading 2019 and there's loads of new ones since then

Concur. There will be more space for theoretical fan favourites in a show without a new record to shift. Being Funny in a Foreign Language has also enshrined itself into their catalogue and public consciousness too - About You in particular feels like a torch moment to match Robbers too.

I am so very excited for next Friday and I’m only watching at home. My third favourite band ever and I cannot wait to see what they pull out of the bag. Very long overdue headline set.

Biffy beforehand is the best bonus in the world.

Reckon they'll be the Cheese and Grain band teased for a Wednesday announcement.

Wonder where they are rehearsing. Is that Production Park?

Where would they play at Cheese & Grain, they seem pretty full with artists this week

Aye, will be sale in the morning and show in the evening.

Right. One last crack.

The back half of that set is so good - cannot wait

Swap in A Change of Heart and remove Oh Caroline and that would be just about perfect. 👌

Also The City is a great opener - one of my highlights from their Reading 2019 Headline set when they played it even though it had pretty much been dropped from their regular setlists.

    • Can't speak for Dua Lipa's, but Coldplay's was vastly scaled down compared to their stadium production staging though, and tracks were adapted to reflect that. MOTS tour had a full walkway 30m out to the B-Stage in the middle of the crowd, and two C-Stages. Glastonbury didn't accommodate that at all and just had a very small walkway in front of the Pyramid stage, and (IIRC) a disconnected B-Stage.   Which re-enforces my point. Acts can adapt their stage shows if they really want. Most do, some don't want to. Glastonbury might miss out on the odd act that doesn't want to slightly adapt, but so will most festivals.
    • Oh wow, was sure they’d be playing this or trees.
    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
