Is the camera not purposely showing the back of the field?

I just can’t get into this tbh - it feels like they’re so bland Matt tries too hard to make it funner. The other members are so boring 🤣

people look like they’re enjoying it though!

Probably it's pretty sparse. I've just cut across at about 2/3rd back and there's lots of open space.

Every song sounds exactly the same, he's 'smoking' cigarettes at a rate that no smoker in the world has ever done. Walked on stage with a pint glass 3/4s full of Guinness which he's barely sipping. All a bit odd.

Everybody knew this for years though, and it still sucks a decent amount of people in, so fair play to 'em. As a 30-something bloke who likes guitar music with somewhat meaningful lyrics, I know I'm not the target audience.

I saw a thread earlier where somebody was mocking another user for suggesting Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay could headline 2027. They mocked saying 'what makes you think the festival would be so desperate to book the same artists so soon again.'

The three headliners this weekend show how critically desperate the elite UK festival circuit is for genuine headliners.

With no offence to your taste, I did just cough up my drink at mentioning Arctic Monkeys. Undoubtedly go the pull, but there as much artifice and construct as The 1975 are these days.

Tip for future - using the phrase "guitar music" really just devalues any other point you try to make.

They’ve done brilliant so far given the 90 minute slot available to them.  I’m kinda disappointed we couldn’t get an extension of the ATVB tour, it was perfect! but obviously wouldn’t have been able to cram it into 90 minutes.
Still lots of bangers we’ve missed out on,  I’m in love with you, Looking for somebody to love, Change of heart,  UGH!,  Girls,  The City,  Guys,  I could go on….

The 1975 are a divisive band. Have been since 2013, and the detractors have only got more entrenched in their hatred since. But try and tell me that wasn't a step up from the run of the mill sets bands like Arctic Monkeys have served up post pandemic. At least 1975 clearly view Glastonbury as a pinnacle. And I'm an AM fan so this is not just a case of my own musical preferences.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
