The 1975

big fan of their music, but feel torn about going to see them considering the things healy has said. has he ever come out and  apologised or said he regretted any of it?

considering whenever a rapper gets the headline slot we have people talking about the use of the word bitch and how its a bad look, surprised at the lack of stuff about healy.  are the 1975 seen as "controversial" in the wider world for glasto? i dont do twitter / instagram so havent really seen too much about it.

kinda hoping i get pointed to an interview where he seems genuinly remorseful and i can go see them without feeling like a complete sell out.

He did a big blanket apology recently after he took the bait from Azealia Banks' bullying posts. Clearly got a call from the management team. Not that apologizing stops the haters, because they will just feel emboldened that they have some sort of power.

And no, nobody outside terminally online circles gives a f**k.

Banks is, I'm sorry to say, a weapon. An absolute weapon.

But yeah. Ultimately, your mileage on Healy is likely already made up from the past few years. There will inevitably be things to shift the needle - he's too much of a shithouse to not do something along those lines - but imagine most opinion is already formed on him for those who know of The 1975.

Azeila(sp?) Banks is a horrid woman, some of the stuff she is spouting is disgusting.

Matty needs a PR representative,  whilst some of his actions over recent years have been misguided & ill judged I’m pretty sure he hasn’t meant any harm.  It’s clear to see he’s a sensitive soul but he needs guidance on whats acceptable in the public eye, some folk are just not cut out for that level of fame.

Besides, had he not had that fling with Taylor Swift nobody would give a toss.

Not too surprised. Always been quite fan-driven - would assume it is a massive video montage played either as an intro or across the background of their last song - possibly The Sound. (Not sure there are many other songs in their catalogue that rival The Sound as show closer, which makes it all the more fascinating they try to avoid playing it there.)

More I sit on this, more I wonder just how heavy they could go on the debut record. Been getting to points where you sometimes only have two songs - Sex and Robbers - locked in, but given this is the biggest show of their careers, with their debut still their strongest catalogue pull, got to assume they just off The City or perhaps Heart Out.

Hoping for something like this, with maybe a new one squeezed in. Not completely sold on the order.

1.  The City

2. It's not Living

3. Looking for Somebody

4. Me & You Together Song

5. Settle Down

6. Oh Caroline

7. A Change of Heart

8. All I need to Hear

9. About You

10. Paris

11. Be my Mistake

12. Happiness

13. If you're too Shy

14. I'm in Love with you

15. Love it if we made it

16. Somebody else

17. Girls

18. Chocolate

19. Sex

20. Give yourself a try

21. Robbers

22. The Sound

I'd be delighted with that.

Reckon Love Me might also make an appearance somewhere too but that would be terrific!

I have always said in my decade of being a fan, that 'antichrist' (never/refused to be played live and always wanted by the die-hards) the eventual glasto headline is the time to do it. That, or never.

Also need 'You' / 'Milk' on the setlist + the fan bit makes me thinks 'Guys' will be played.

The only thing that's ever stopped them from knocking it out of the park in my head to be fair is Healy - if he's on point, they'll ace it. If he fudges the moment - more plausible than not - then they might bugger it up.

The hope, surely for the long-term, is that they can come back in a decade and do it again. Plenty of changing currents and winds to play into that, btu we shall see how it all plays out.

Do we think they will bring out someone to join them or will they keep it about themselves?

Could go either way. I’d imagine they’ll have a guest. Would Charli do it?

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
