Give Bicep a year off at least I think.

Prodigy far too low as well in John Peel imo -  George Ezra too, no way is he 3rd other - he's a pyramid sub. IDLES too high on that note, no way are they pyramid sub. Emeli Sande nowhere near other sub anymore, maybe stick her afternoon pyramid. Dave won't take 3rd down either

Lana was down to sub last time. Can’t see her taking a lower slot.

Would love to get another chance to see Bicep after they clashed with Kenny. I'd take Other if I had to.

It wouldn't be the first time that a great performer returned the following year. Chic off the top of my head, for example.

My thinking for Dave was that where do you place him if he's a potential headliner in the future? Other headliner would bring the same criticism that people say of Foals, that that is their level. I wondered if a high Pyramid, maybe even subbing Elton, would be the next step before headlining the whole thing in 2024/25.

Also, following the Legend isn't to be sniffed at - you're pretty much guaranteed a huge crowd.

The trouble is, with more people touring next year, the line-up is going to be so stacked that acts might have to compromise on where they're placed.

That is why I am leaning - against my better wishes - towards bands like The 1975 not topping the Pyramid, even though I think they've got the size. Feels like we could be in line for a plus-sized crop of major players vying for top-end spots on there.

Which, to be honest, is only a good thing! More bang for your buck to an extent.

Just to note - no Other headliner has gone on to headline the Pyramid, FWIW…

At least since 2000ish. 🙂

My thoughts.....

Lana too low
Bicep won't return until 2024/25 (off the back of the next album)
IDLES need a year or two away from the festival
Tyler won't accept being on The Other
Prodigy are too big for JP
Arctics, Dua and Reg would be a stellar set of headliners
Spice Girls crowd would be insane
West Holts looks perfect

I'd be at AM anyway, but i saw bicep last year at brixton then this year and wish i saw PSB - was pretty similar to last time. good still but really not much changed. there's so many acts around and they don't even have a new album definitely coming out in time for glastonbury it seems.

Except for The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx… 🤦‍♂️

I did say since 2000-ish. 🤷‍♂️

ETA: Fair enough on Basement Jaxx - just checked and they went from other headliner in 2000 to 2005. My mistake… Although prob worth mentioning they stepped in to replace Kylie, so a bit like Florence there’s a question mark if they’d have headlined in their own right.

Prodigy headlined Other in ‘95 and Pyramid in ‘97 so earlier than I was looking. 🙂 They then went back to Other headliner in 2009…

So! Amended stat: out of the past 17 festivals and 51 Other stage headliners, only one has gone on to headline the Pyramid. 😉

So, not since 2007… doesn’t sound quite as good a stat.

Gosh, someone’s living up to their username today. 😉

Anyway - see my edits above. I got Basement Jaxx wrong but reckon the broader point stands - only 1 out of 51 acts have been promoted from Other to Pyramid headliner since 2000.

To me that indicates a trend in how the festival books acts… but of course, there is no pattern. 🤷‍♂️

I reckon at this point The Prodigy could headline WHs.

But for Sunday I'm going for a top 4 of.

Taylor, Nick Cave, Olivia Rodrigo, Spice Girls.

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
