Richard's a good guy, we had a brief meet up at Bearded.

I think it's really interesting that they have put the Science Futures bit in the middle of the healing fields, where you are perhaps more likely to find people challenging the science. Apparently it makes for some interesting conversations. Not so much climate change deniers but doom mongers and folks with interesting thoughts on 5G, covid and the like.

Always annoyed me they have homeopaths there too.

What do you wear? I’ve got some adidas running trainers with plenty of support and cushioning as well as very breathable top mesh.

Why anyone would want to stifle their feet in walking boots is beyond me.

Yeah I’ve got a pair of Nike trainers too but they’re pretty thin so stops my feet from getting too hot.

I’m all for walking boots if they’re needed but absolutely not for a stomp around the site on dry floor. Let’s not even get started on people wearing wellies all weekend when it’s dry 👀

I seem to remember the overnight temps last year being around 10-11 degrees? So fairly happy with the lowest ones. I feel like I'm going to struggle on the Sunday, Elton take the wheel

edit: evening to overnight

For those wondering, the runs will continue to Wednesday morning before I set off!

Anyway, onto the 12Z. Now with added overnight temperatures!

THROUGH TO GATES OPEN

Well, who'd have thought it? The site has effectively had NO RAIN today after all the talk of rivers running through the paths.

It's all tracked much further east than any of the forecasts had said even yesterday.

Monday is completely dry, and Tuesday has a small amount of rain. You can see the Pilton forcefield in full effect here:

When gates open at 9am on Wednesday, it's completely dry and temps of 19.

Through the day on Wednesday, it's effectively dry all day with highs of 21-22.

TEMPERATURE AT 3AM Thursday: 12-13.

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 22-23.

TEMPERATURE AT 3AM Friday: 12-13.

FRIDAY

Completely dry, highs of 23.

The heavy rain of previous runs is pushed ever FURTHER north.

TEMPERATURE AT 3AM Saturday: 13-14.

image.thumb.png.f7a93eaa425aed26066e9d80cec29a42.png

SATURDAY

Completely dry, highs of 25-26.

The high is more in command on this run, so Sunday is going to be HOT.

TEMPERATURE AT 3AM Sunday: 16-17.

SUNDAY

Completely dry, highs of 26-27.

TEMPERATURE AT 3AM Monday: 16-17.

This run says it's still 25-26 degrees when Elton is finishing 😆

SUMMARY

What more is there to say? The runs just keep getting better and better - no doubt for some people too good.

The high keeps on winning against the low as we get closer to a more reliable timeframe.

Urgh. It doesnt get much worse than that. Genuinely dreading Saturday & Sunday.

Absolute bollocks.

Hope I get to see some acts.

What were the overnight temps last year…?

Not sure what the evening temps were last year but it was very cold as as soon as the sun went down. Definitely needed a jacket. Interested if anyone has the actual numbers, for reference

again, everyone is missing the amount of rain forecast for the Tuesday. It's potentially enough to cause some chaos.

not forecast though? models showing that amount of rain are outliers. YR are forecasting 6mm. Even if we get 30mm, it’ll run straight off. Don’t know why I’m biting though - feeding ya!

It is absolutely hammering it down across Gloucestershire right now.

(yes yes, good thing the festivals not being held here etc)

I'm in Gloucester, wasn't exactly hammering it, more of a shower which lasted 20mins
