Act missing from poster

It's entirely logistically possible, but probably not entirely logical for Sylvan Esso to pop over the pond for a few late June/July festivals.

Do bands ever do that? There's a gap of just over a month, which seems too long to rule it out, but still a little on the short side. But surely no act is going to take July off the year everything opens up?

I’m sure they were originally announced for Mad Cool in early July but they dropped out for some reason. I was hoping for them at Glastonbury or even some UK dates around then but seems like they won’t be around unfortunately.

Oh, so perhaps the gap was originally for European festivals, but that plan has fallen through? Possibly due to COVID/travel concerns?

Was kind of hoping for an out of leftfield surprise like Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight or RightBazza II who're all in the mix in the UK over G Weekend.

Yeah in Plymouth the day before. Would mean 3 gigs in a row but shes doing that on this tour. And its en route back up to Cardiff for her next gig on the 28th.

Sunday then. The Mavis Staples slot. Determined to make that a thing.

Would be a surprise at this stage. He feels like an act that if he were playing he'd be on the first poster.

We have tickets for his gig in Plymouth on the 21st but think we're going to have to offload them as Mrs B won't want to leave Baby B for the night, as she's off to Madrid for a long weekend a few days later.

I'm sure this has been done before, but here are the acts listed on the initial 2019 poster and where they ended up playing on the festival. You can see that pretty much all the top positions were accounted for on the first announcement, but there was plenty to come for the daytime spots and Other/Park stage acts.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
