That’s a nightmare, but try not to worry too much. There are stories like this on here every year, it might be worthwhile searching back the forum to this time last year to see how people resolved it. As far as I can remember, everyone I saw who had Royal Mail lose the ticket ended up getting into the festival. It just takes a bit of persistence with Royal Mail, see tickets etc. If the worst comes to the worst, you can still always just rock up to the festival site and go to the box office - it might take a few hours, but I’m sure you’d be able to get in. Whilst this would be pretty gutting, as WG is pretty much my favourite stage and the Thursday nights I’ve spent there have been easily the best nights I’ve had, something about it does need to change. Thursday used to be quite a chilled day, not too busy. Now it’s like the first day of the festival proper, and it seems like 90% of people are on site. Wednesday now is what Thursday used to be like. So putting acts as popular as Bastille and Mel C on in a small capacity tent really was a shit idea. I hope WG stays, but also that they go back to smaller secret acts, or maybe have an alternative secret set venue for Thu night.

Hands up everyone on this thread taking the moral high ground who had a proper good party in the John Peel tent this summer

Considering that I didn’t quote you, refer to you or accuse you of anything it does really sound like you’re protesting a whole load too much for someone who doesn’t subscribe to the things that you think you’re being accused of. I simply stated some undeniable facts. If you choose to take them as an insult because they struck a nerve with you, then that is on you. If you really are on board with equity of opportunity for everyone in music/life then you really should be on board providing more than equal opportunities to groups that have been previously disadvantaged due to sexism/racism/any other ism etc. Because you don’t achieve equity by treating everyone equally.

It’s the Eavis’ festival. They can book who they like. Sensible people are on board with the fact that female artists have been woefully underrepresented on festival line ups since forever for no good reason, just blatant sexism. The festival could have a majority female lineup completely on merit so there is zero argument that 50-50 could be considered sexist against men in any way. And if you wanted to spend all your time watching white men playing guitars you still could, all day, every day.

When the forecast is good - all those clever weather people with their charts and graphs, they clearly know what they’re talking about. Good souls the lot of them. Doing good work. When the forecast is bad - fucking dweebs with their stupid, pointless charts and graphs. No one can predict the weather properly this far in advance. Get a proper job/hobby.
