Gosh was that all that time ago? In my head it was 2017 because my friend Ellie was there... But she was also there in 2015 so could well be. Would be nice to see them in a late afternoon outdoor slot on the farm next year. On a stage big enough to accommodate the astronauts!

I'd only seen them once - was at Truck Festival when they were headlining one of the smaller stages. They were very good and I've wanted to go back since but hadn't got round to it. So yeah, I'm also pleased at the positive reviews.

 

Indeed I'm certainly hoping it continues as I've now committed to getting a ticket to see them next week.

I saw them on Saturday night at the Mash House in Edinburgh. I'd never seen them before and seeing Golden Touch in such a small room was actually great. Fun little gig and they seemed to be on good form.

Tough gig on a Monday night in Huddersfield, but MEMORIALS were excellent, a mix of psych, folk and acid jazz.  

The pair, who've both done lots of other musical projects including Wire and Electrelane, came together during the pandemic to write a score for a documentary, and they've just released their first album.

Yeah, there seems to be an active pleasure in playing live again for them. That's always half the battle.

Dont think he headlined? The new stuff is party music. Quite clubby and heavy at times. Some of it sounded like Atom Heart Mother though.

 

Looks like we got a couple of extra tunes too. Queen of Denmark ("Im playing this every time I in Dublin for Sinead") and Sigourney Weaver at the end just because someone asked for it.

Way too much too cool for school hate for Razorlight. Jonny Borrell half the dickhead that the Gallaghers are and they have a great live set. Is that a new album? Might check it out if it's out.

Yes it's one to catch. If you are planning on going I'd make sure you listen to the new album a few times as I think it's one that gets better with repeated listens. I definitely think the addition of a vocalist for this tour has given them a more rounded stage presence and she seems really great as well.

That Truck set was the first time I'd seen them too. I've been to their own gigs twice since and every time they've been really good.

Could the human mind imagine a more Brighton Dome gig than PSB? i cant think of one . . . .

im a little jealous, i think they're fascinating - they've made their own niche and completely filled it with themselves and i think itll be a great gig 👍

Correct - he played just before Mogwai who headlined. Both great - and then I went up the hill to see Gruff Rhys in the Crows Nest. What a night!

 

I’m off to see Amyl & sniffers tonight, playing the new album

Went to f**ked Up last night in Birmingham. I was a bit surprised by how small the venue was and I'd guess around 60 people there! They were decent enough but I wasn't convinced on the setlist.

      I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer

      That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.

      Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
