Scottish independence isn't going away though is it...going to drag on and on....In the end the majority of MSPs are for pro independence parties who want a referendum before next parliament elections. But, there will be some relief in UK govt that SNP didn't get that majority.

Long Bailey? Watching her too! Think she's making sense actually.

Long forgotten. She doesn't do sense.she just does self. What were you calling making sense that she want starmer to elevate her back to some relevance.she should be making herself relevant.

I do love this 🙂

shame people voted for letting the bodies pile up .. what an odd world we live in !!

This sort of thing is just polarising though. You arent going to get into any conversation with anyone that could possibly influence or open their mind to other possibilities if you are seen to be (rightly or wronngly) sneering at them in an 'I know better than you' kind of way.

Whats needed is engagement and openness on all sides.

The left of today isnt the left of my youth- and obviously im not the same at 50 as i was at 18 but bloody hell some of the attitude i pick up from people- with a how dare you think that grandad- i can see why people just think fuck it - its not worth my effort anymore.

That's where the labour vote is slipping away - on the 90percent who arent on twitter all the time - trying to live their lives quietly but getting told they must think' this or feel that or ' you're homophobe , you're racist, youre a nazi. '

We are all on a learning curve of stuff in life and what was once acceptable now isnt but by telling people 'you shouldn't have been laughing at that its wrong'( stuff from the 70s. Happened to me). I wouldnt laugh now but why would i heartily agree that my whole life has been wrong and if i just get myself reeducated in a this is the right thinking - always has always will be in a 1984 room 101 way,  i will be ok.

This site or at least a couple of threads are going down the route of 'if you disagree with me about this you disagree with me sbput everything and you are therefore wrong. I will not engage with you. '

It fucks me off and makes me fear for the future.

Thankfully ill be dead before it gets unbearably shit hopefully.

I just like it … that’s it …I find it truthfull and to the point …  I’m actually fairly open to engaging mostly although I draw the line where names are called . I don’t think I said anything further …

Nah mate. I wasn't singling you out for anything.

I mean in general real life.

You do find it truthful. I find it funny.

But we still need to engage with people. Gone are my days of selling socialist worker and im sure i was a right prick when i was selling it but the difference is i guess it was to an audience of maybe 12 a day. Now when people get harangued its to an audiencel of thousands who can quickly become a (virtual ) braying mob- so you just think fuck it ill say nothing. Then the virtual braying mob become something you dont want to be associated with so you suddenly find bumbling bojo 'at least hes funny. Ill vote for him '.

But seriously Alex nothing personal meant. Just trying to put my point of view across as to why its all gone tits up.

no  offence taken .... words without context and viewing of facial expression can often be taken in the wrong context 🙂

Anyone who thinks Starmer is too dull needs to watch a Mark Drakeford interview.

Always said he was all substance over style. Seems to me the people actually warmed to that and that he told us what we needed to hear (the truth) and not what we wanted to hear. He has a fair amount of integrity right now and I for one am delighted.

In response to the people ragging on him, it’s just the nature of these forums On times.  Some people (me) just don’t want the hassle of having to defend their position all the time. @Ozanne fought the good fight and then got ridiculed for it.  Seem that he and Drakeford were right because not only have labour had their joint best ever Senedd results, but as of yesterday we have vaccinated 74% of the adult population, average deaths per day is 0.4 and cases are 9.7 per 100k.
