Uhhh what have i missed? Have been taking a break from politics this week.

is there actually a proper scandal happening or is it just another thing thats being overhyped and will get swept under the rug again ?

Just Tories being Tories. Starmer ripping Spaffer a new one and for some unknown reason people keep mentioning Corbyn.

NI First Minister resigned.

Spaffer take note, that’s how it’s done when you fuck up.

Having a laugh? She’s clung on with the tips of her finger nails for years through the cash for ash scandal and an absolutely disastrous brexit politic (from a DUP point of view, great for those of us who want to see the emerald isle united!)

She’s resigned because she was forced out after a vote of no confidence.

Whats great is that now they’ll probably elect a hardliner who will alienate moderate unionists to such an extent that they accelerate a United Ireland. The DUP as the midwives of a United Ireland is gr8.

In other news - Biden’s alright isn’t he?

Wow, I might actually stop disliking him so much if he pulls this off. Shame he's no Corbyn tho

But he still sucks, and I will die on this hill, as will all of you who try to fight me.

this united Ireland thing...I assume they would need to have referendum in N Ireland and also Ireland for this? Not sure Ireland would actually want the hassle this could bring...

The self proclaimed loyalists are hardly sane balanced people.

Ah yes, because not wanting your country to be controlled by British bastards must mean you're insane.

Barnard Castle cut through, was brought up in focus groups quite a bit. Expenses cut through as well. The longer you keep things in the public eye the more eyes are on it and the more cut through there is. Cut through.

Yeah...I don't know...those things happened when public was going through rough times and don't like those in power taking the piss...but at moment with vaccines and restrictions being eased morale is high and not sure many will be giving much of a shit about how Boris and Carrie paid to do up their little palace.

Polling consistently suggests that the irish would vote Yes to a United Ireland by a decent margin.

My hope is that in the next elections Sinn Fein will be the largest party north and south by some distance and that’ll be enough justification for the border poll (Biden as president helps a lot there) - if Sinn Fein is in government in the south they’ll hopefully be able to plan for an irish NHS which remains a sticking point for many in the north (the loss of the NHS), which will hopefully be enough to tip the scales in a border poll.

I mean...if the majority is for a united Ireland then I'm all for it too....but I don't think it would be plain sailing...too much deep seated hatred and history in that place...you just have to see the riots and anger from the unionist communities now...

    • Just watched Annie Lennox at Wilderness Festival as part of her global feminist The Circle initiative. She curated the 2 hour slot with special guests including Jessie Ware and then did  a 1/2 hour slot singing her and Eurythmics hits at the end. Her voice is amazing still and I am convinced she would do an amazing set on Sunday afternoon. She even wore a jacket with a sparkling CND symbol on the back! It’s a sign!!

    • Is it one of those bollocks things where ones is a festival and the other would be a show lol
    • Hello,   I have no idea what the answer is to your question, but wish you well in your quest for information.
    • Yes, I was asking about comedy, and also it seems odd that after bringing it back last year, the Seaside Stage seems to have gone again. Probably why Massaoke (basically a big karaoke sing-along) is now on the Castle Stage. But on all three days?! Does all seem a little desperate this year, though hopefully I will be proved wrong. Still think the Mary Wallopers fiasco has probably put a lot of artists off performing at Victorious, hence the reduction in stages and acts appearing... One of the best things about Victorious in the early days was its value for money compared to some of the other bigger festivals, but this certainly not the case anymore...
