Didn’t they step in on the other stage in 2019? I know 3 years would have passed since then and for up and coming artists I could understand them returning but not sure The Charlatans fit in to that category! dotdash79
However don’t artist only get a “we’re playing at Glastonbury” image and not the line up.

dotdash79
Might be this but the festival is normally a bit dancey

Tbh I'd expect a lot of announcements over the next couple weeks or so, regardless of what Glastonbury may or may not do. Pretty much every festival that hasn't announced anything yet - Latitude, WOMAD, BeatHerder, Beautiful Days, Wilderness amongst others - will need to get something out soon and it always make sense to try and hit the end of the month pay day. kalifire
I think it's a safe bet that the poster is coming on Tuesday 1st March. Emily said it's next month, and they usually release before balance payments are due. Edited February 17, 2022 by kalifire

Memory Man
Have to agree with the above it will be just before, or during, the balance payment week - just like it almost always is. It makes too much sense than doing it any other way. im hopeful for one or two curveballs that no one saw coming / hasnt rumoured Edited February 17, 2022 by Memory Man
Matt42
I don’t have the stats @Gnomicide is confirmed stats man, but I’m pretty sure the poster coming during Balance Week is the trend? A sort of midweek boost for those who may never check their emails.

Supernintendo Chalmers
So, are we thinking the coach resale is most likely to be three weeks today?

I'm not - the 10th seems too soon for the dust to settle on the balance window. I think either the 17th or the 24th are reasonably likely, but wouldn't like to call which. It seems they brought the balance deadline to March for the money to be accounted for in this financial year. If they want the resale money to count in this year they'll have to do it in March, if they're happy to roll it into next year they'll wait till April. The fact they were able to drop a fair chunk of the 2020 lineup (RIP) on 12th March shows that they'll already have the enough to do so again by the beginning of March this year. It's been before the balance deadline for the last 4 years so I think it's easy to expect something during balance week especially given Emily's comments. I think there was some sort of Covid tax relief that is due to end as we go into the new tax year, that is almost certainly why they brought the dates forward so I'm sure it will be in March. Not directly to do with the financial year - it's that the VAT rate on event tickets rises from 12.5% to 20% on April 1st. As long as they do it before then, they save a shitload of cash.
